Welcome Sadio Mane.

I thought that was a given... just a matter of how much we lose on him.

Mane and Sturridge together? Or just 1 up front? Would Sturridge be moved in behind Mane do you think? Or vice versa? I don't know a lot about Mane to be honest.

I was going to ask that question, what formation and group of players will he be looking at to make work.

I can't think it's 30 odd million on a backup!

Sturridge has to play as an out and out centre forward IMO.

He's not playing there for England and its hurting his game.

£34m is the fee being reported!
From TIA this afternoon:
Sam Wallace of the Telegraph claims the 24-year-old could end up costing Liverpool as much as £38.5million, “if the targets laid out for him in the agreement between the two clubs are achieved.” Targets being number of appearances and LFC qualifying for the CL in 2017/18.

So it doesn't look like they're expecting top 4 this season - and that's not an immediate goal. Steady work to improve looks like the plan, perhaps.

2017/18 is the season after the one that starts in a few weeks.
So if that is to be believed then the target could be related to next year's league position.

Yes, I suppose you could read it that way too! Oh well, we're none the wiser then! lol

In other news Sergi Canos has been sold to Bristol City but with sell on fees AND a buy back clause in the deal.

Sadio Mane: 51 goals, 36 assists - decent stats when you compare against Hazards 42 goals, 31 assists, only 24 and knows the prem...got to be a good signing surely ?

Klopp thinks so; good enough for me. I watched so few non LFC games last year I didn't really see much of Mane at all.

It's amazing how little I care about the national side compared to LFC.

Medical done. Just sorting personal terms. Been allocated a squad number. He'll play in the No.29 shirt.

Apparently Tottenham came in for him, but he said he didn't want to play for a tiddly little team that don't have to buy a trophy cabinet... (even if ours is full of 1970's and 80's dust, wink).

joking aside i'm just so surprised nobody else is in for him, he has the lot for me, power, pace & a good eye for goal.

Chapeau to Klopp for getting him,
