Agreed - but apparently CP have offered 25. So to get anywhere near 28, they'd have to say "30". All a big haggle.
I think Palace would actually be a good fit for Benteke. They play to his strengths so wouldn't be surprised to see him finish with 15+ league goals with them if he makes the move.Just need to find a buyer willing to pay £5-£6m for Balo now
Balo is a waste of space but Benteke I believe is a great player at the wrong club .. If benteke signs for CP or West Ham he will score a bootful of goals (probably against us lol) Good players don't become st overnight (unless their surname ends in Telli.)

Agreed with that.Edited by mr sagman on Saturday 2nd July 00:13
On Joe Allen - really pleased for him - he's playing out of his skin for Wales. What a team of players they have gelled together.
No knee jerk moaning if we lose pre season matches! Klopp says the whole of pre season is a training session so he's not looking to win matches.

Elsewhere, the 3 fitness sessions a day in pre season start at 7am! Get them earning their high salaries and no mistake! lol

After the disappointment of our footballers, wouldn't it be nice if Balotelli came back, put his head down, applied himself and proved us wrong. I know it's a long shot, but he really is in the last chance saloon. fk this up and he will never get near a big club ever again.
Come on Mario, surprise us!

If I'm honest, he made noises when he was signing for us that indicated he was going to knuckle down and put his problems in the past blablabla - and I actually thought maybe he would. Sadly he didn't bother doing anything of the sort. Nor did he at Milan last year. He's now making noises about still wanting to achieve and win a Balon d'Or! I think he's all mouth and noise and absolutely no interest or love of for football at all. Sad waste of talent (and he has got talent); he just never wants to put the work in.Come on Mario, surprise us!
Good to have you back RT. What do you think of Klopp's signings so far and do you think they will address the problems in the Sevilla game when we were clueless 2nd half? For me, still missing an experienced box-to-box midfielder and a genuine leader in the team. Lots of young players signed with a lot of experience leaving (Toure & Skrtel).
It's been a few years since I last remember actually being really excited by a new Liverpool manager.
I went to both finals, the City and Seville games. We need imo at least one or two players that have actually won things. Would have made all the difference imo. I think Milner on his own just isn't enough.
My thoughts are that Klopp seems to be building a team where the team is more important than any one individual. He isn't going to buy superstars.
When I left Basel, and reflecting on the season I'd have wanted to see a keeper, a centre back that can really command the defence, a left back, 2 new central midfielders to compliment Cann and Milner, a wide attacker with pace and goals and of course a 20 goals a season striker.
We have the keeper, the centre back, maybe one of the central midfielders and a wide attacker. Hopefully we'll see a left back, one or two more new central midfielders and a striker brought in before the season starts.

Completely agree re: players that have been there and done it however I just don't see Klopp buying experience. He is in for Zielinski, another very young player at 22, which would probably mean Allen leaving. Klopp thinks he can mould most of these young buys into stars which he may do but in games when you need that tactical know-how, that big match experience we will come up short. And in the end it may be yet another season of transition. My feeling is that he is going too much for young players and we need more of a balance.RedTrident said:

Agree with left back and central mid and if Balo and Big Ben both leave, we should be in for another striker.Gassing Station | Football | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
