Less chances and more scrappy play in midfield with people getting knocked about for the last little while.

Anyone else think Smith should be starting in front of Moreno at the weekend?
Every bloody week!
If moreno made the mistake he made for their goal and nearly their 2nd he would be pulled apart
Yes he is very good going forward but let's not think he is better at defending...

They seem very similar players to me - very quick going up front and happy to run, but as a result leaves gaps at the back and not a proper defender as such.

This.

Smith doesn't have Moreno's pace, but he looks to have a bit more guile and skill. Both look look about equally st in defense though.

Of the kids, I like Chirvella... looks really solid.

We have a proper RB in Clyne but people say he doesn't get forward enough... in reality how many bombing forward FBs have been the best defenders??

That's one thing he does have
When he was 18 ran 100m in 11 seconds flat

Cutting Smith rather more slack, given that he is relatively inexperienced.

So more slack means he should start every week? Hhmm not so sure..very promising but let's not get carried away , good competition for him though

Didn't know that, but he doesn't 'look' as fast as Moreno.

On this performance I prefer him though... he just looks to have a bit more trickery.

Few things for me.

What was Ibe doing trying to do some stupid trick pass not far from the 18 yard box from which we conceded a corner in the 89th minute.

Benteke looks a different player with other strikers on the pitch - he looks engaged, moving, trying to link up, all since Sturridge & Origi came on. Interesting.

Liverpool and corners, at both ends... Though we have looked slightly better at defending this time (touch wood)

Moreno certainly needs dropping for a league game. Put Smith in and see how he performs. He might not step up but he's proven he's worth a try in the first team, even if he's not the finished article yet.
