Agree it is harsh but it is fair, he is another one of the underachievers that we always seem to attract.
I think people are a bit quick to jump on Hendo, he played all year with an injury was never 100%, lets see what a good pre season does for him and working properly under Klopp - I for one still think he has a lot to offer and people are very quick to forget just how good he was when we came 2nd...Lallana has a lot to offer, I can only see Klopp improving him too -
We have a very good squad at the moment, we really should be making a push with anyone...

Coutinho, Firminho, Mane, Lallana & Wijnaldum If Klopp plays all these together you should be fun to watch.
I imagine Lallana might drop to the bench from them with Can in Cm with Wijnaldumphil_cardiff said:

Unless Klopp has tapped up Bender.
However it's not criticism of Klopp - we need to see his team and strategy first. It's just my gut feeling from seeing the team we have available at the moment.

I think you'll be right. I think we're not looking to get a specialist DM in because everyone is expected to defend and be able to win the ball.
Jammy, you are right, with the style the JK do you actually need a specific DM ? as he expects EVERYONE to close down their nearest man... if you look at Mane, and Wijnaldum, both have brilliant engines... But then reading this - it seems he did have 1 destroyer in BD - https://wearehooligans.com/2014/12/15/analyzing-ju...

A friend remarked to me recently that Lallana is similar to Henderson. An athlete with little end product. I thought that was a bit harsh but I can see where he's coming from.
Technically he is very good for a English player, nothing like Henderson IMH, good engine but not a athlete like Clyne who is immense in that department and gets him out of trouble when his footballing lets him down.I also think the Liverpool shirt hangs heavy on some players where they can be very good at some clubs but bottle it at Liverpool.

I am yet to see a lot of this...am I watching a different game?? .
What does everyone else think ? personally I think Clyne is as solid as you can get for a RB, and his attacking abilities for me a very very underrated.

My view is perhaps we have too many similar players. They look good at other clubs before coming here because they are the speialist playermaker for their team. They then have someone behind them they can rely on, and who will be accurate with supplying them the ball. When they come here a lot of our players are mobile and so they're not able to link as well since they don't know where each other will be "automatically". So they end up being a bit slow on the pass, or not being 100% sure they can press straight away since they might leave a hole at the back. It might only be a slight delay, but it's enough to break up the rythem, or miss that small chance to break quickly. I also think the Liverpool shirt hangs heavy on some players where they can be very good at some clubs but bottle it at Liverpool.
This might have been ok if we had a solid team where they got used to each other more, but when combined with the injuries we had last season they couldn't get used to each other enough since there was no stable team.
I am no football expert, but that is my take on it.

That was definitely the case in the last days of BR; Klopp came in and is on record as saying he needed to give the players their confidence and belief back. You could argue that they should be stronger characters and just get on with it etc etc but it is what it is...Since then he's improved pretty much everyone - I think everyone will be stepping up to the challenge this season. The stragglers will be gone quick enough. I don't think Lallana will be a straggler - he was impressive with Southampton and in the latter part of last season once he got his confidence back. He has the ability, I would think Klopp will give him the chance to show it.
