Pissed off to be fair, sounds like we should have had a hatfull of goals... Yet again conceding from set plays.

I'm honestly not bothered about loosing tonight as strange as it seems.

We cant keep playing this many games every week.

Didn't deserve to lose tonight. Can't often say that. A few fewer fixtures, anyway...
I have never liked the FA cup since they started holding both the semi finals at Wembley.

Shame. Thought the mistake was leaving Ibe on and taking the 2 playmakers off.

As for Benteke. The lad needs to be sold in the summer. Time after time he has let us down. There are times when I genuinely doubt his intelligence.

I think I like Lucas at centre back. Maybe a little too short but reads the game well.
I agree - he was pretty good the last times he was pressed into action.

Benteke just not getting a break, but looks promising with Sturridge.
bad form to quote myself but whilst I thought Lucas was excellent overall he had done that little push thing quite a few times and the ref had missed it most of the time.

Not bothered about the result... thought the team played pretty OK tonight - certainly better than some of the drivel played in the Prem recently. Lots of chances. Kids played well for the most of the game. Sturidge and Coutinho back.

No real surprises, weakened team = out of competition. Just a matter of when.

Set piece, again no surprises.

A good performance, played well, lots of good individual effort, good team play. Defended loads of corners too. Even the keeper played well, can't remember any cock ups.

Harsh result, but maybe fair. Payet is superb.

Coutinho was taken off for fitness reasons, I can understand that. Teixera instead of Ibe being taken off surprised me. Sturridge showed glimpses of what we've needed for most of this season. A proper striker.

Positives: How we have missed both Coutinho and Sturridge! Both looked like they hadn't been injured for ages.

Yep - I think West Ham could claim that as justice really. Lucas is worse than Skrtel for fouling at CH.

In agreement here - we just needed someone to hold the ball up a bit more and put in a good pass in the final third. It just seemed to be a little disjointed and we didn't properly control midfield once we did the subs.

Both teams could have got quite a few goals, and in many ways a high scoring draw would probably have been the fairest result IMO. We were a bit more dangerous overall, but also very sketchy at the back which if they had a bit more luck could have gone against us earlier in the game.

I may get slated again, but I think if he got a goal Benteke and Sturridge could form a decent partnership, he just has zero confidence now.
I agree, he works better when playing up front with two people as shown today. Problem is his confidence is now gone, so until he gets it back it could be a lot of missed shots for a while.

I think we'll compete in the Thursday cup with Coutinho, Sturridge and Origi back. Leave Benteke as a second half impact lump up front.

One thing for sure. We need to take this Thursday cup very seriously, with a Champions League place up for grabs. We are in mid-table mediocrity and have no chance qualifying via the league.

Some of Ibes decision making today was terrible - I'd have hooked him off instead of Teixera - he seems to have regressed rather than developed and knows it so is doing silly, almost petulant things now.

Lucas gave away far too many silly free kicks in dangerous positions - without that he'd have been outstanding tonight.

Benteke as I said a couple pages back, looked a whole different player with Sturridge and others on the pitch. It looked like he was happier and more engaged and wanting to play. I wouldn't be surprised if him & sturridge get a bit of a partnership going - I'd like to see it anyway.

Sturridge, even barely fit is head & shoulders a class above and shows we need a few more players through the spine of that quality.
