Not bothered about the result... thought the team played pretty OK tonight - certainly better than some of the drivel played in the Prem recently. Lots of chances. Kids played well for the most of the game. Sturidge and Coutinho back.
Not bothered about going out of the cup ?

For real ?

I would say the same. We are in one final top 6 is best we can hope in the league so we need to concentrate on the Europa league as our best way into the champions league, so missing out on more games in the FA Cup I can live with.

I think we'll compete in the Thursday cup with Coutinho, Sturridge and Ibe back. Leave Benteke as a second half impact lump up front.
One thing for sure. We need to take this Thursday cup very seriously, with a Champions League place up for grabs. We are in mid-table mediocrity and have no chance qualifying via the league.
Agree.
Do you guys honestly think we could win the Europa league?!

Whilst I would tend to agree, we need to be in it to have any chance of attracting the 3 or 4 quality players needed to help rebuild the squad.

Yes.
If we can get this lineup playing and playing as close as to their potential then yes we can definitely compete.

Mignolet
Clyne Skrtel Sakho/Lovren Flanagan
Henderson Lucas Milner
Firmino Sturridge Coutinho

You can see where the obvious and immediate improvements need to be there. Keeper, centre back, at least 1 central midfielder and at least 1 striker that can play alongside Sturridge and/or effectively replace him in this system.

As for Benteke. The lad needs to be sold in the summer. Time after time he has let us down. There are times when I genuinely doubt his intelligence.
Agreed. He just doesn't seem to have any kind of striker's instinct. How many clean-through opportunities has he failed to score from this season now?

I genuinely think all the positive Klopp words after each time he under performs are simply an attempt at financial damage limitation on the price (compared to £32m) when he goes.

See I think 4 changes/additions are realistic and reasonable.

The 7-10 raised as a number previously is just silly.

From the evidence of tactics and enhanced insight Zeljko Buvac isnt much of a brain, now Klopp regards him as an "equal" but I feel he will soon go one the pressure comes (with a few £m payoff) - I would spend big on Nigel Pierson and / or Steve Walsh from Leics as Walsh in one player (Riyad Mahrez) who has virtually eclipsed the LFC TC on his own.

But we should be able to get Pierson who would put the fear of god into the team and get us a decent defence.

Many, many years ago, I remember one sports writer saying " If you put the Liverpool back four across the East Lancs Road, nothing much would get through".
Where are the snows of yesteryear?

Gonna just forget about last night. We now have Sturridge (yyayyyyyyy) and Couthino back (yayyyyyy). As for Benteke, yep he is driving me utterly insane. However any striker that is creating chances is at least getting into the right place some of the time. Let him play with some added quality, ie the two we have back and see how he goes.

We shall see. One thing I'm of the opinion of is that this team is shockingly disjointed.

The keeper can't distruste well in a team that likes to play the ball out of the back.

The 2 regular fullbacks in Clyne and Moreno neither offer enough going forward or are strong enough in defence

The centre backs, well Skrtel is still the best of them even after spending 50 million

The centre midfield has very few goals in it, no real leader and no one that can explode from one end of the pitch to the other.

A lot od money seems to have been spent on buying one number 10 after another.

When Sturridge isn't fit (and that's most of the time) the other strikers have very few goals in them.

I don't care if it takes 4 players or 8 to fix this. I'd just like to see it happen as soon as.

No chance. The three of them go everywhere together.

I was bothered. The number of games thing is a bit of a red herring as it's mostly the kids or people coming back from injury playing the cup games, which is good for development.

Well I for one would prefer be in it... so yes not happy we went out but please with the showing of some of the younger lads tbh and also please to see our 2 best players back on the pitch, will make a massive difference for us...

Tickets go on sale this week for the final, what seats you going for Dave/RT?

Had £75 and £90 option, we usually get the cheapest, only 1 year did we get the best ones. Anyone see the charter train you could travel down on at circa £400 a head not inc alcohol lol
