I've had another way to help Lfc make cash - sell drinks at half time from more places - or at least have a structured que even though I'm a powerfully built ph man god I resent spending 14.9 minutes of half time shuffling and smiling in front of a Romanian bar student on a zero hour contract trying to buy a Bovril like the last 2 hookers in a Phuket knocking shop just before closing. Make it like the theatre with little lockers maybe?

Just thought I'd say well done to your fans for getting the win they deserve, not just for Liverpool, but this now sends a message to every other club.

It will certainly be interesting to see how the owners of other clubs respond.

To all the grumblers, the FSG statement clearly states they won't take any more from GA tickets over the next 3 seasons. I took that to mean that at some point some or all of the season tickets will go up. Of course, the devil is in the detail, but there are more of the cheapest tickets and no tickets over 59 quid (ie, the most expensive now). And the top price season ticket now isn't raising next season. Its not all doom and gloom, and its a damn sight better than it was at the weekend.

I'll wait to see what the Spirit of Shankely guys make of the details. It was obviously a pr disaster for FSG. And no doubt they feared that the situation would get worse for them as momentum would grow. They changed their position because they were forced to, not because they wanted to.

And as someone who did walk out I'm also reassured that direct action can and still works and that an ordinary match going fan is not powerless.

Oh Raja can you not hear the exact amount of cut being applied as an increase to the hospitality tickets as an increase ? in fact add 1% for the PR bill.

Susan we will walk out on 77 I fear it wont quite go down as effectively..

I think more importantly it should send a message to the fans of other clubs. Not being treated correctly ?? Do something about it.

No-one is suggesting otherwise. I'd just rather concentrate on the positive. Its good news! No-one is suggesting FSG are all lovely people we want to give a cuddle to.

And its SHANKLY. If you only ever spell 1 word relating to LFC correctly, it should be that one.

I did note the statement did not include Ayre as a signatory.
That's because it was from FSG, not LFC.
"On behalf of everyone at FSG and LFC" is the quote. Agree with the previous poster about Ayre looking rather silly after his bolt on media appearance following the managers press conf. He would make a good pub landlord would Ian but he's out of his depth as a CEO.

From what I can see some people will be significantly better off, as kids are being looked after a lot, some I have seen post a saving of £750+ a year

Some might have an increase, not 100% sure how much yet, like RT will wait to see S0S's report on the new costs...

FSG had to act, they could not have their brand in the media like that, its good for nothing, especially when they are trying to find a new sponsor for the stand..

'hey Pepsi, come and sponsor our new stand for 10m a year, dont worry about all the fans leaving, waving black flags its normal' hhhhmm cant quite see it some how

I dunno. I'm no Ayre fan but the letter came from FSG - they own the club, so its their signatures and of course they're speaking on behalf of everyone. Maybe Ayre came up with the structure of the ticketing, maybe he didn't. Certainly his interview last week was so full of half truths and corporate "not telling you the full story" stuff that he will have lost respect from almost everyone. Maybe time for a change there. Lifelong LFC fan or not.

Or maybe he was under orders to produce a ticketing pricing plan that raised profits and he did his best not to screw everyone - then FSG will have ratified it. Ultimately its their cock up.

Ayre did come up with the structure but he was asked to gain an extra 2m ..its him who decided the new prices then FSG obviously signed it off ...

I wonder if FSG saw the news from Newcastle: http://www.skysports.com/football/news/11678/10161...

Figures it would be FSG, ultimately. So he's damned if he does and sacked if he doesn't.

Correct,
Will be itneresting to see SOS's further response....

It is a big step in the right direction especially with kids, but fans of all clubs need to make a stance now, this has shown how much power fans really can have...
Really hope something is organised on a much bigger front....

I would agree with that. Will be interesting if Ayre is kicked out as a sacrifice to "appease the fans". That would actually probably make FSG more popular, ironically.

Am I correct in thinking, that initially the prices only went up for those who were deemed most likely to be able to afford it without any major heartache ??

A step change across all clubs would be wonderful but I think incremental changes starting with away tickets is more likely. I do like the idea of not going in for kick off though, that really wouldn't sit well with Sky as they hype the atmosphere....with empty seat. Then go in after 5 minutes and enjoy the game.

Price freeze they say wink - I am not saying they are bad owners as I dont think they are but there has been some clever maths done here claiming prize free and aboloshing CAT B, C games -

Little steps of course and big one has been accomplished...

If, as a club, you are regularly selling out, then a price freeze should be the minimum offered to fans.

If you don't sell out, I can't think of a single reason not to reduce prices. Surely twice as many people paying half as much to get in is a better result.
