Looking at the positives...

- We have played Arsenal away and Tottenham away and not lost.
- We have played FOUR away games in a row and only lost once.
- We have dominated the ball in nearly all our games perhaps except the Arsenal game.

I am pretty happy with that.

Alderwereild (sp?), is a great player.

Not as good as Lloris, obviously, but can defend solidly and spray the ball about in a way we so obviously can't.

I have to agree. Burnley was bad and we're unlucky not to come away with a win today, but with a bit more momentum I think we can start winning these games today.

Breaking down teams that only defend is still going to be our biggest test though.

It's going to be another long old season, dominating games then throwing it all away.

We just don't have what it takes to be a top team at the moment, we will have good days but I have the feeling we will have too many days like today and be just not quite good enough.

Trying to concentrate on that (and not 3 points lost again).

If Captain Fantastic had played a better ball there we'd have been in.

Not giving Grujic a bit more time today cost us I think. Wijnaldum really should have been subbed earlier.

Origi was completely ineffective and made no impact whatsoever. With the right substitutions we would have won today. Another Klopp work in progress game.

If Coutinho and Firmino could finish, 1 badly played ball wouldn't matter. Agreed on Origi - he was as invisible as Wijnaldum.

Not a great game and not sure it answers much for either club. Long season ahead, good luck all.

There does seem to be quite a lot of negativity on here.

I thought today we showed a bit more steel and cynicism when defending/breaking down Spurs counter attacks which was a big failing against Burnley.
Overall a game we should have won, but also not a bad draw away to Tottenham who will be there or thereabouts again this year.

International break now or one more game?

Not now but when I looked earlier I'd say maybe his right foot was just ahead of the back line when the ball was played. That close. Hard to understand how the linesman can actually call it when it's that close.
Benefit of the doubt my arse, was much made of the clear penalty in the first half when someone inwhite wrestled someone in red to the ground on the penalty area?

Overall I thought we bossed the first half and deserved a second, once the equaliser came we got nervous and held for a draw, not a classic performance but on balance we played better away against the worlds top XI.

Couple of nice spurs fans here more relieved than me

I enjoyed the game.

I thought it was two decent teams making an effort to play good football. Shame it is so early in the season.

I thought Firmino had a decent game. Coutinho had a bad day and if anything he needs to look up and play for the team a bit more.

It's obvious which players we need to upgrade on. That central midfield is turd and starting with a midfield 3 of Henderson Wijnaldum and Lallana is daft.

Can for Henderson
Grujic for Wijnaldum
Lloris for Lallana

At the very least we need goals from that midfield, particularly as none of them seem to be able to tackle.

Oh and Lovren, I'd rather play Sakho on the left.

Yet for long periods of time we outplayed a decent side.

I think people have a problem with Henders and Wijnaldum because they're just being asked to do the simple things. Same with Lucas a couple of seasons ago, everyone was having a go at him but he was just doing the simple things and making the team tick. I think people who aren't quite so good at seeing thew whole game miss those things and perhaps mistakenly think they are "turd".

I'm more worried that even with all the attacking players we have now we are not killing games off when we are dominating.

They were rubbish for long periods of the game.

I just can't see Wijnaldum keeping either Can or Grujic out. Clearly Henderson is harder to drop for no other reason than that he's captain.

A very strange signing for me is Wijnaldum. Spend 25 odd million on a run of the mill attacking midfielder form a relegated side and then play him centre midfield.

A point away to a strong Spurs. I'll take that.
