I think people have a problem with Henders and Wijnaldum because they're just being asked to do the simple things. Same with Lucas a couple of seasons ago, everyone was having a go at him but he was just doing the simple things and making the team tick. I think people who aren't quite so good at seeing thew whole game miss those things and perhaps mistakenly think they are "turd".
If Henderson was capable of doing the simple things he'd have played Firmino through at the end. desolate said:

I'm more worried that even with all the attacking players we have now we are not killing games off when we are dominating.
I agree with this totally.Stil, 4 pts off away games against Arse and Spurs - can't be too unhappy there.

Whilst I do agree with you that these players are "doing the simple things", I would say I would want more from Wijanldum and Henderson than just the simple things like square passes or occasional Hollywood pass. I would like someone who runs and bosses the game from CM whilst Can (or similar) screens the back four. I never thought I'd say this but we really miss Allen v2.O - the player we saw in the last 10 or so games for us last season and also for Wales. He suddenly found himself and his game and then we get rid of him? Let's see - still early days yet but from what I have seen so for, we lack that General in the middle of the park.First 3 games will be the story of our season I think.
- thrilling big game victory against a top team
- loss against a team we expect to beat after they defend really well and score with their only shot(s) on target
- draw a game we should have won due to an inability to finish teams off.
Shock Sturridge sale before the end of the window? Klopp clearly doesn't fancy him. If Sturridge doesn't play in the big games then I think he'll force a move himself.

I don't think the position has changed greatly.
We need a proper left back and a defensive midfielder in the mould of the wondrous Xabi Alonso to protect the back four and spray the passes about. Henderson has great work rate but doesn't have the range of passing to sit in the pocket. That's OK if you have an Alderweireld behind him, but we don't.
Three good chances missed, a stone-wall penalty denied and a marginal offside decision. Sometimes that's just how it goes.

I may be wrong but I just can't see Klopp buying a traditional DM.We need a proper left back and a defensive midfielder in the mould of the wondrous Xabi Alonso to protect the back four and spray the passes about. He has a style and he won't compromise. It looks like that means a back 4 and then 6 mobile pressing players. Hence no DM and no Sturridge.
May as well flog him as have him on the bench.

Agree with all of this - 6th place awaits I fear- thrilling big game victory against a top team

As downbeat as I am after the result today, assuming the whole season will go the way of our opening 3 games is just daft. If we've been this way in another 15 games then maybe. 38 games in a PL season, not half a dozen.
It is ridiculous just how reactionary fans are nowadays! We all know that thes 3 games are not being looked at only in isolation. It's a continuation of a pattern from last season under Klopp and even before then. We raise our games for what are now our cup finals, we slip up against teams that will finish bottom half whose game plan is to sit deep, defend and hope to get a lucky goal on the break. And since Suarez, we fail too often to beat teams when we've been on top by missing chances and conceding goals a better defensive set up wouldn't.
Of course this team will get better as we see Grujic and Can replace 2 of the midfield 3 that played today. I'm looking forward to a midfield 3 where Can and Grujic are permanent fixtures with Henderson, Wijnaldum and Lallana fighting it out for the other position.
