Interesting article, that. May be some truth in it.
Interesting stats:-Sturridge is 27 on Thursday and has played 234 club matches, scoring 93 goals. By the time he was Sturridge’s age, Wayne Rooney had played more than 450 matches for his clubs and scored nearly 200 goals. Robbie Keane had played almost 400 and scored almost 150

The problem is that in Klopp's system a lot of the pressing begins with the man at the front. So we either play Klopps way, or find a system that suits Sturridge, and then have to change that system every time Sturridge gets injured...
Thing is that is the "extreme" version. It's perfectly ok to have 10 men pressing all the time, and 1 doing a bit of pressing but spending more time being in the right position to make the most of his chances. My view is purely practical. We have a problem to make chances into goals. Sturridge has proven he can do that well. No one else has. So I would use him above Firmino, so plays with a lot of energy but doesn't score nearly as many. You also have to consider Firmino's style which is to often give the ball away easily because he's doing something very unusal. That opens us up to being hit on the break because our players are pushing forward and then lose the ball when they don't expect to (it's not like someone getting closed down so you can see to not push forwards as much - instead Firmino may do a backpass without really looking, and so either pull off a genius pass or result in us losing it without expecting it).Flip Martian said:

One thing's for sure, if Klopp has Liverpool as decent as the German national sides have been, I'll go along with that all day long, thank you very much...
He argues that there is no room for flair players in Klopp's teams yet we have Lallana, Firmino, Coutinho and Mane all in the team.
Sturridge will get games, just not when we're playing very intensive teams like Arsenal and Spurs.

I thought it was a pretty awful article, to be honest.

A flair player who won't work hard, I took it to mean. Those 4 you noted do at least all work hard (maybe not Coutinho as much as, say, Lallana though). He argues that there is no room for flair players in Klopp's teams yet we have Lallana, Firmino, Coutinho and Mane all in the team.

It will be interesting to see if Klopp is more inclined to use Sturbridge when we play at home. I must admit, I don't think Coutinho, Firmino and Lallana are particularly effective when they are all played together. Personally, I'd drop Lallana and play Coutinho, Firmino and Mane with Sturridge or Origi up front.
Must admit, I'm not at all convinced by Wijnaldum yet either.

Klopp loves Lallana. He won't be dropped. Not got much love for Wijnaldum either yet.
We could have bought a much better central midfielder than Wijnaldum. But then he's not a central midfielder. It's like he's learning a new position and doesn't quite know what to do. He may get there, he may not but this lad does not at all look like a central midfielder. Did he even really play that position at Newcastle?NRS said:

Add the saved wages. We're also buying emerging players that are on less than some of the players we are replacing.
I'm sure when FSG look back on their tenure they'll judge it a huge success. They'll have probably tripled their initial investment. Winning trophies or titles is secondary to them than making money.
As businessmen I have nothing but admiration for them. Build up a team that isn't complete but has the right foundations for someone else to pick up and take us to a higher level. It's like buying a house that you know with 20k of rufubishment will get you a 60k return should you choose to sell. These guys know what they're doing. Klopp and the stadium will help them make loads more money. The next owner needs to see that the ingredients are there for them to also be successful.
Meanwhile these guys are putting money in the bank, new stand income, new TVs income, reduced wage bill.

This should cheer you guys up, another one of our defenders goes off on loan: http://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/sport/football/tran....
