Nice to see Sturridge back and a great result against a very poor team. Him and Coutinho really lift this team, which in recent months has been decidedly average or actually worse. Above all, it shows what a couple of quality players can do to a team / squad - I really hope come Summer we sign those 3 or 4 quality players that lifts the team consistently and also keeps the likes of Coutinho interested in staying at Liverpool.

Hopefully it will at least give some players a bit of confidence. I think a really good team would have notched up more of a cricket score, Villa were really so so poor. But any win is a good win this season and at least some of them might remember what scoring a goal feels like.

Yeah, good to see six different scorers on the score sheet. Can only be good going forward! I hope we put out a strong team against Augsburg.

Me too, and I suspect he will. The Augsburg matches (at least, the first leg) might well be prep for the league cup final. A whole week in between matches! Amazing. Also hope Sturridge feels no after effects after playing in the last 2 games.

No player has been involved in more Premier League goals in 2016 than Roberto Firmino (8)a

Having Sturridge, Coutihno and Firmino all fit in the team again is a massive massive boost for us, It will also paper over any cracks that we have further back, Ie score more than we concede lol, I just feel like we are always likely to score even if we go behind with Sturridge playing, Today was possibly the closest Klopp has seen to the best LFC combination in a competetive game playing together, Villa were st but I fancy that team to put on a half decent performance against anyone.. maybe with a few tweaks Flanno for Moreno possibly, Lovren for Sakho maybe? Is it only me that craps myself every time Sturridge gets tackled, I'm terrified of him getting crocked again.Would be fairly confident against Man City in the final with that team, Surprised how sharp Coutihno and Sturridge look considering their lack of match time.

Villa were so bad today they made us look like Barcelona

Great to get back to a positive goal difference and jump up a few places, not getting over excited though hoepfully Klopp feels like staying smile

Shame Leicester lost as otherwise a perfect weekend of scores (I don't watch cricket)

I really wonder what the result yesterday would have been without Coutihno and Sturridge? Did we get a glimse of it at the end when we didn't really threaten that much, let alone score? Think we would have still won, but perhaps only a goal or two.

On an unrelated note, did you see Suarez-Messi penalty yesterday for Barcelona?

You will need to turn up the volume for this one; the commentary is priceless!

Benteke would have shot straight at the keeper who'd have then saved it!

Anyone else think this Penalty is a tad disrespectful to the oppo ?

BTW..Well done for getting 6 yesterday , although Villa were poor you still had to put them away.

I agree. I don't think we would have quite had that cutting edge, but I do think we would have won by a couple of goals.

In some ways, but it's about scoring. If they messed it up it would have been very embarrassing (a bit like PC's gentle free kick under the wall the other day). It's certainly a good way to create a few more questions in the goalkeeper's head when they have a penalty in future.
