They were very poor, but also helps Klopp been able to pla for the 1st time our strongest front 3 of Sturridge, Coutinho, Firminio

Very much so. I think Danny Murphy it was said on the radio this morning he'd take a red card for "sorting out" someone who did that against his team. Totally taking the piss.

Anyone know how good Matip is? I guess Klopp knows him well so that carries some cachet.

He has 7 years Bundesliga experience @ 24 years of age, which means lots of experience under his belt and must have made his debut for the first team around 17 years old.

As long as he doesn't hold onto shirts when defending or allow players to turn and shoot with ease then we could finally be onto a winner!

Would be interested to know what his leadership skills are like because we are sorely lacking a truly commanding defender ).

I think it was done as a mark of respect to Johan Cryuff rather than a lack of it to the other team.

Has this been confirmed? Matip looks pretty much a done deal, but haven't seen anywhere reporting Toure will leave. I think he's filled in quite well considering the injuries we've had!

Seconded. If it was only about Suarez' hat trick then Messi could have just let him take the pen.

Has been officially confirmed. Already a 'veteran' of two World Cups! On paper, seems a decent signing.

Yes I've just seen the clubs confirmation of Matip. Looks a good signing on paper and similar to Sakho when he first signed for the club - young, tall, fast and plenty of experience internationally and at a top league. Here's hoping he's a little more 'elegant' on the ball than Sakho is at times!

Still not seen anything about Toure leaving the club at the end of the season, although I can't see him getting much game time with Lovren, Skrtel, Sakho, Illori (and Lucas), so maybe it's better getting him off the books.

I think that's going a bit far, the defence is at fault for not covering the option off by following up the kick, they should be marking Suarez to cover this and any rebound that comes his way as a matter of course. But I'd be pretty annoyed that the ref didn't penalise Suarez for entering the penalty area before the kick was taken.

It's not really a sustainable way to take the penalty,

I really dont see the problem with the penalty, its within the rules and if the defence does its job and stays with runners they probably have more chance of stoppping it over a normal penalty..

So far, Klopp has signed Grujic (6'4), Caulker (6'3) and now Matip (6'4).

Do you think he reckons we lack height/physicality?

None of those lads are that powerfully built or physical, I think it's all about the height.
