So Celtic are unlikely to ever be allowed into the English Prem because they're a threat, and an equal to, our top 4 or top 6 clubs NOW - even without the resources that come from playing in the Prem. So imagine how big and powerful they would be WITH the finances that come from being in the Prem?

That's how I read what he says.

He is a mentalist. How deluded can 1 man really be? He has that glazed evangelical look in his eye too. Mental.
They are a threat and equal in terms of history, fanbase and stadium. With EPL money and a decent owner there is no reason Celtic couldn't be a top 6 team. Mind you, so could Villa or Forest.

I'm not sure Celtic's, Forrest's or Villa's history is that relevant any more. Not in terms of achieving new success. I think we just about used up the last our history's relevance to get Klopp and FSG! Though I think what helped more was that we'd won the CL in the last ~10 years and gone close to winning the title twice too.

He's not saying that though. He's saying they are NOW. And "just imagine what a threat they would be with EPL money" - the inference was they would wipe the floor with everyone else so won't be allowed in.

Utter nonsense.

I was never particularly anti Rogers, but watching him on sky sports, claiming Celtic would be a top 4-6 team in the premier league is just hilarious.
Not really, they nearly beat the current best team in the Premier League.
So not that ridiculous.

We did the double over City last season - winning both games by 3 goals. We finished 8th.

Didn't Celtic let 7 in against Barca recently?

This is the Celtic right that lost too Lincoln Red Imps FC , drew with Astana FC, Lost 2 - 0 to H. Be'er Sheva and 7-0 to Barca - and you think they could get top 6 in England...dont be silly now...

It goes back to RTs point. They are running the club as a business, simple as that. It doesn't matter if they have made a big profit in other areas, you will try and maximise profits anyway. If you had your own money invested in something and it was pure economics then you wouldn't say you'll make a worse decision for the future because previous ones have given you more than you thought. So why do people expect them to do so? Also if they expand the general seats will it mean even more of the new corporate seats will be empty?

Obviously as fans we involve feelings, but it's not surprising - generally I am ok with them as owners because they have helped build a stable club and have been patient with managers which is important (just check a lot of our rivals). But they are in it for maximising profit, and so RTs view is also completely valid.

Not quite as simple as that, we have at the moment for me probably one of the top 3 managers in the world in charge...he demands noise and a full Anfield, he knows that at a time where points are so important the more noise we make the more chance we have of success and picking up the odd extra point here and there... increasing Annie road by 4k might not mean they pay the load off in 5 years but it might be the difference between us coming 2nd one year and coming 1st - THAT IS THE POINT the fans are making

If we then win the league imagine how much LFC would be worth, its very short sighted just to say no as we wont make the money back in x
Increasing Annie road would cost around 50m, naming rights would probably get you 4-5m a year
An extra 4500 seats at avg £45 would get you 3.65m a year, that is fairly close to it being paid off in 5 years... then pure profit week after week....how that is not appealing to anyone in business is crazy

Do clubs really sell naming rights for stands?!

FSG won't reduce the price of the corporate tickets. They're tied into a pricing structure where the majority of corporate seats have sold. They'll just sell these as one offs until they sell up. Interestingly, not one person I know from my end of the stand has moved across so they have already attracted plenty of new money.

I personally think its a shame that FSG are linking increase in ticket price to increasing the capacity with 'normal' seats. Its short term naivety or sour grapes from the walk out from last season.

From what I can gather we are close with the main stand, for anything 6-8m a year. probably a 10 year contract

Bit like training kits, was never done before till recently when we caught up with Zee Germans

I'm surprised the seats aren't sponsored. So when they're empty some lube company doesn't have their logo spread over 10,000 seats. Maybe not lube, something for piles...

I don't object to them making money, I actually would like to build a successful team that see us buy one. But taking the fans for fools, I'd have thought Mr Henry would have realised we're not all fools. There is no financial reason to increase ticket prices other than wanting more money and to squeeze every asset.

I think I'll email Mr Corbyn. He should add compulsory % of fan ownership to the national game. He'd get more votes than he'd lose by this.

The fans are the lifeblood of every team, especially one such as ours. Mr Henry is playing with fire.

It's madness! I mean with training kit there are plenty of pictures etc but who on earth would pay that sort of money to have a name on a stand that will never get mentioned by anyone?!

Agree 100% ..I dont think anyone objects FSG to making money or making LFC worth more but there are ways to go about things that will keep everyone on your side...the 'asset' they have is nothing without the fans...they need to keep them on side and also keep to their word to the manager who no doubt they spoke to about increasing the number of fans in the stadium....

Spending 50m on increasing Annie road and getting that back in around 5 years makes perfect sense, purely based on the extra noise that would bring to Anfield.
