Utd had 34% possession yesterday, their lowest ever in a Premier League game.
Take it as a compliment, we defended in numbers to stifle your (better than ours) attack. Jose was hoping for a bit of something up front but didn't get anything as the main two, Pogba and Ibra were poor but also Rashford. It's obvious but any goal from either side would have made such a difference to the game and statistics. I'd like to think the reverse fixture will be somewhat different to last night.

I thought Rashford did a pretty decent job at right back in the 2nd half.

Karius. Three games he has played in, he pretty much hasn't had anything to do but when was needed, has flapped in EACH game and has been very lucky to not concede.

Do we give Karius more time or should Mignolet be brought back in?
Our summer signings have been interesting

Karius is a miss for me. If he adapts then great but I don't really see anything encouraging. I think we'll be in for another keeper in a window or two unless Ward comes back and makes the position his own.
Matip is a great signing. Looks assured and a premier league veteran.
Grujic isn't going to break through this season so maybe too early to tell.
Wijnaldum seems to be playing well though I'm not really a fan. Like Henderson I think he's the support midfielder. I think of Can/Henderson and Wijnaldum I'd only want one of these playing in a 433 alongside Lallana. I think we're one quality centre midfielder short.
Mane has been good so far, hopefully he can keep up his energy levels.

8 games in, 2 points off top and even then I feel that a proven centre midfielder and striker that suits our style would have us performing to a higher level. At this stage I think it's a case of who moves on. If Ings can't get in the team then I think both him and Sturridge will be gone by the end of the season.

In terms of centre midfielders, I'm thinking one of Henderson, Can or Grujic will also be moved on at the end of the season. Not that they're not good players, just that to get to the level we want we need Them to offer more.

To those criticising Karius - as I said last night, De Gea was a laughing stock in his first season; he was awful at crosses I remember and took time to adjust. We gave Mignolet a lot of time and he's not really sustained consistent form over a long period of time (he was already in the Prem when we bought him so should really have been well adjusted already. Karius may take a season to get used to things - like De Gea did. It may be Klopp already has that in mind and will give him the time.

Morning after the night before. We knew exactly what Utd's game plan was and still created next to nothing.

Sturridge is finished here. I'd sell him in January. Henderson and Can were just too slow in moving the ball forward. Whilst it was Can's first game back he just looked too slow of feet and slow of mind for the expressive style of midfield we need that is keen to drive the ball forward. Henderson didn't do anywhere near enough moving the ball forward either.

By the way, this keeper is looking very average. Sure it'll take time but the way he flaps at crosses or remains rooted to his goal line when they come in. He's going to cost us goals. Mane had a disappointing game by his standards. The lack of movement ahead of him or full back support left him easy to manage.
That's more like it RT, after your good nights rest, all our players are st again smile

Sturridge looked awful, said the same last game - shouldn't be anywhere near the starting 11

Can was not great but then came into it - not writing Karius off just yet lol, he has a lot to do to convince me still but writing him off is a wee bit premature..... many keepers struggle in the prem in their 1st year....

Don't think anyone is writing Karius off - he is young, no doubt nervous, has been thrust onto the big stage - he needs time. My question really is the next game. Should Karius be taken out of the team temporarily, allow him settle and practice claiming an aerial ball... or should it just be trial by fire and just let him continue even at the risk of costing us points?

or will it totally ruin whatever confidence he has.... tough one but I am sure Klopp will make the right decision

Copied from twitter, but perfectly sums up Maureen's approach...

If Mourinho directed Die Hard it'd be 90 minutes of Bruce Willis hiding in a cupboard, then applauding his tactics for not getting shot.

I thought Lallana was really good when he came on. Matip was excellent and when we moved Coutinho and Firmino into their usual positions they played much better. Mane was marked out of the game. Needed more support from Clyne I think.

Sturridge has been poor all season. This style doesn't suit him and his style negatively impacts on our style of play.

Can and Henderson. Can and Wijnaldum, Henderson and Wijnaldum. Take your pick. I think there will be an improvement there and with a striker over the next window or two.

Let's see what Saturday brings. Hopefully we start with the front 4 we finished with. And if Ings is fit he has to make the bench.

He is right I suppose, its not pretty but its a massive compliment to how much of a threat we really are (obviously none of our players would get into the UTD team though Chrisb)

I think other teams will try copy it but none will do it as efficient as they did, also I doubt we will be off our game as much as we were on Monday, as for as much as TD were good at cutting out the spaces we were miss placing passes with no pressure...

West Brom Sat, I can see a comfortable win smile

At the point I posted that I wouldn't have. However, you look much improved and disregarding Monday's performance (as it would have been difficult for any forward players to perform well), on current form I'd take a couple of your lads now over ours :P

I can see Pulis trying and failing to copy Utds style and a comfortable win for you guys.

It's more Utd copying the Pulis style that makes em so good to watch.

Struridge is starting to run out of excuses, he is currently fit, and should be banging in goals. No doubt the lads talent but Klopp's system need 11 players working hard, and DS isn't for me on form or cutting the mustard. I would start Ings against West Brom, i remember watching him against Utd a few years ago, you could tell he has talent and certainly deserves a crack at the first 11.
Wijnaldum and Lallana were big misses and Can looked like a player short on games, he needs a few sub apperances to get his match fitness back. Also it would mean Hendo bombing forward and Can holding the midfield defence position.

A few points off the top, with a top coach who knows what he wants and how to get it i am in the most very positive.
Goalie still a concern but lets give the new guy a chance.

Matip and Lovern look like they will be our new CB partnership for the next 5 years if they carry on this form, and could

I cant see him putting Ings suddenly above Firmino, Origi and Sturridge, at best it will be bench...but not sure he wil make that still yet...I can see Origi moving ahead of Sturridge but I cant see Ings going above anyone just yet, I think he will hold him back for Spurs tbh
Matip for £0 could end up being the signing of the year, looking more composed every game and super confident on the ball too...

LLalana and Coutinho!

Yeah, I don't thnk WBA have the players to stop you to be honest, plus you'll be quite frustrated from Monday so I do fear for them.

Yep, desperate for us to win at Chelsea, but I really can't see it at the moment. Just have to hope Cahill and Luiz are up to their usual standards of defending and we'll be fine! smile

Lets not pretend, Clyne does not walk in , So does Matip next to your new guy, and Firmino is probably our best player in reality for me so he does too, and Mane
