If Klopp has decided he's no 1 then I'm sure he'll be given time to adapt. But there's no escaping that when we play Palace at the weekend they'll be whipping in crosses at every opportunity.
Too right, Benteke might come back to haunt us. I hope the big man gets a good reception from our fans as he was a model pro whilst briefly at the club. I'm sure he will.

Potential team for tonight? thoughts ?
I suspect more first teamers will feature - Klopp took the last round very seriously. I would think Mings would be in there but I can also imagine Klopp wanting Karius to have as much practice as poss?

Mignolet
Clyne Matip Klavan Moreno
Can Grujic Wijnaldum
Ings Sturridge Origi

I think there will be minimal change with the other first teamers rotated in. Klopp will want to win a trophy.

He said yesterday in press conf Mignolet is in and he would expect many changes....
That team is a mixture of experience and youth, which for me in the early round is what you should do ....
I want to see youth given a go along with Ings, Origi

Prefer that team tbh

That is more than minimal changes though, 8 from last game...

Ta, missed that yesterday. Agree with RT's suggested team I think, more a of a balance of 1st team and others there like in the last round.

I think that's a pretty decent shout too. Definitely see Can and Wijnaldum getting game time from the first team. Probably would like to see Clyne rested and have a look at Trent.

Brannagan not ahead of him at RB? Trent plays more CM than RB doesn't he ?

I'd also rest Clyne but couldn't think who the cover right back might be. Looking forward to seeing Grujic and Ings play in particular.

Can't get to the game tonight but really hope that regardless of individual players, we see Kopp's playing style imposed.

Trent is quite versatile (which is why I think Klopp likes him a lot); he plays a number 6, holding midfielder and RB. I wouldn't be surprised to see him fill in at RB tonight.

Stewart Grujic Wijnaldum
Ejaria Sturridge Origi

I understand the Lucas as centre back. Never seen Arnold or Ejaria really play. Stewart I've seen for the 5 mins he sometimes gets. Maybe a bit too inexperienced?

So apart from Wijnaldum that can seen as the official B team in every position.

Doesn't look great for Ings then.

Stewart was excellent against Barcelona in the pre-season friendly.

Shame Ings doesn't start.

I'm interested to see how we do with perhaps 2 up front depending on tactics? I think Sturridge could benefit from it. That said, I guess neither team really has a squad that is used to each other so it could be a pretty poor match in terms of quality. Which may mean it's exciting end to end stuff with neither team defending but just running at each other, or a bore-fest with neither team able to string any passes together.

Result could go any way.

Whatever the result, really looking forward to the game tonight. Will be great to see if there's any future stars in the wider squad.
