How do the clubs that have a track record of bringing young talent through do it? Is it all in the same place?

Trent A-A against Spurs... really impressive debut IMO.

In the premier league who would that be?

Probably Southampton and I am pretty sure they have a combined facility.
I think Tottenham do too.

Anyone else brought a lot of players through?

Please keep insisting though... we've been playing really, really well ever since you originally stated that! biggrin
Hey! If it was only the Burnley game then I might well have been right! Just ignore the Tottenham, West Brom, Swansea, Hull, Derby, Chelsea, Leicester City, Burton and Arsenal results and it's clear there is a trend showing we'll end below the CL spots and do badly in the cups, wink

Do we still have issues that people can scout Melwood and get a very good idea of our team etc? It would be good to fix that too.
The Liverpool first eleven is hardly a secret these days is it!
Nope, but this would be for many decades ahead presumably, so might be an issue during some time periods ahead.

“Cameron Brannagan was a bit older than him. Jordan Rossiter and Connor Randall were also part of that batch of players we signed at six, seven and eight.

Six years old yikes

Utd were after my Grandson when he was only 4 and a half, he was playing with a local under 6 team so they thought he was 5, they have to be 5 for the club to sign them, we have made a decision to keep him out of a academy till he is 9,

We live on the Wirral and all the Big Prem teams from the North West offer free trails for reception age kids (4/5 year olds) through the schools, he was also offered a place at Finch Farm with Everton but we turned that down though he went for a week and the academy was first class and when he is older he will probably go.

Signing 5/6 year olds to academies is to young in my opinion.

Enjoyed that thanks. Be good to see him get 15 mins in a league game where we're ahead and build from there. Hopefully at the very least he can be a decent squad filler for when Clyne needs resting. If Clyne gets injured I wouldn't want to see him thrown in without him getting a bit more pitch time. Definitely a prospect.

Brendan doing what he does best..

Brendan Rodgers on Scott Brown: "If I look at my Liverpool team that nearly won the title, Scott Brown would definitely have been in it."

The same Brendan who insisted teams coming to Celtic Park should respect them. Shortly before losing. He really can't help himself - he doesn't seem to have learned anything by being sacked. His belief in what he says conquers everything.

Mr Rodgers - those were the darkest days. A journey that started with Roy! Finally we have a manager capable of moving us forward.

BR will never cease to amaze, as above he's completely deluded.

I would love to know what he thinks he sees when he looks in a mirror.

I still hold that the Souness years rivalled anything BR dished up for us (despite us winning the FA Cup under him). Although for sheer lack of direction and "this is not Liverpool", Roy's (mercifully short) reign can only ever be described as a poor mistake.

I don't think coming 2nd in the most exciting title race for many years could be considered the darkest days. He is deluded in what he says (if anything I think this may have been one of the biggest issues for him - the players lost trust in what he said - perhaps like Mourinho these days?) but he did get the team to play well around Suarez.

It was kind of interesting, I was looking back at some old posts and most of us got positive in the first few games of his last season - we managed to get a few results before it all fell apart apart in the lack of direction again.

To be fair to Rogers his second place season was the best we had for years, I'd take him over Souness & Woy any day of the week!

And I still maintain that second place had nothing to do with him. In fact Pulis would have won the title with that team that season. The man is a fraud and I'm glad we drop kicked his arse out of our club.

Moving on to the team for today. Huge game for this team. Can we put some demons to bed and smash Pardew and his Palace team?

I'd go back to type and not start Sturridge. If we're struggling to break them down then bring him on alongside another striker. I'd start with the usual 11.

Karius
Clyne Matip Lovren Milner
Henderson Wijnaldum Lallana
Mane Firmino Coutinho

Interesting RT that you now have a Wijnaldum in your 1st 11, has he won you over? He has really impressed me got to say, even more so live when you see the work he does off camera

He blew it. You were in pole position against city and he didn't see it. The very moment you needed a manager that could see the big picture he failed.

Want to be perhaps, but I think a manager with more experience would have seen you win it,
