Interesting RT that you now have a Wijnaldum in your 1st 11, has he won you over? He has really impressed me got to say, even more so live when you see the work he does off camera
I think in an ideally balanced midfield it's either Wijnaldum or Lallana. I'd prefer the balance between the 3 central midfielders to be a combination of the hard working creative such as Lallana or Wijnaldum, the hustling short pass tick over guy which Henderson kind of does and finally want we are missing, the explosive box to box visionary leader. But we are work in progress and I'm pretty certain that as we move forward we will upgrade on Henderson or Can if they don't get to a higher level.
Wijnaldum works hard off the ball and he sees the forward pass, something that we need in a midfielder next to Henderson.
Definitely going to be a hard game today. Pardew is a Premier League old fox and he will inevitably set up his team to frustrate us, similiar to United. Big Ben will be up for this game too; no doubt privately will want to prove a point.
That being said, if we turn up and hustle them from the off and more importantly get that early goal, could see us winning by a decent score.

He blew it. You were in pole position against city and he didn't see it. The very moment you needed a manager that could see the big picture he failed.
Want to be perhaps, but I think a manager with more experience would have seen you win it,
Maybe - however if you have been winning a certain way and you know the team has basically not worked on defending (at least that is what is looked like) do you change the tactics so that you try and set up shop? Obviously there is other times we lost points that season you could say would have made a difference, but if it wasn't for an unlucky slip it could easily have been different. A lot of managers would not have been as close - many would have considerably reduced the threat from Suarez by being a lot more conservative in the way we played. I am not saying he was a genius or anything, just I don't think anybody could have done it. You just need to see it with Klopp - same players are reborn by somewhat different tactics and belief. A lot of managers would never have got the players to believe by worrying about losing. Probably Rodgers being deluded helped, as he made the players believe (until after a bit of time they realised he can only ever be optimistic even when it's clear he is speaking rubbish).Want to be perhaps, but I think a manager with more experience would have seen you win it,
But it wasn't my point anyway - I was saying you can't say the club coming in second place was the "darkest days".

Yes - I think if we get a goal against teams like this we could often get 2-3 quite easily. It's just if they stop us scoring at all then we will have issues. That being said, if we turn up and hustle them from the off and more importantly get that early goal, could see us winning by a decent score.

I like Mourinho in the league, obviously in charge of another team but I like him nonetheless. It'd be a boring place without characters like him.
.
I would agree years ago, now a days he is just boring, always has a face on him, and nothing but whinges.... .

Flanagan has come on for Burnley against Utd - will be a good test of how match fit he is and whether he's likely to regain the form he had a couple of seasons ago.
He almost gave away a penalty as soon as he came on. United really should have won that easily, 37 shots, 19 corners, 75% posession. Gassing Station | Football | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
