Wow half of Wales are posting on here this morning! tongue out

So is football now the number one sport for you guys as they are rubbish at rugby?
I don't know, is rugby your number one sport because your st at football?

I'm not even joking, your attitude is exactly why everyone loves beating you, more than that - its why everyone relishes in your failures. It's a shame really because a lot of the English are good guys, gracious guys, unfortunately some are self righteous knobs....

Thank fk the rugby is over or your media would play down the Euros and praise the greatest rugby team the world has ever seen, led by the greatest coach ever to walk the planet, lead by the best (Kiwi or what ever the fk he is) captain sport has ever seen with the victory "typified" by the best number 7 ever to have ever played the game of rugby. Until the Irish and the Welsh beat you in the 6 Nations and your back here crying why everyone laughs at your failures....
It's called banter my friend. Try it some time. biggrin

Blimey thats a bit of an overreaction aint it?

we were shybo and got what we deserved, wales have played very well and I hope they do well, genuinely.

Clearly 60 odd years of underachievement in welsh football has gone to your head though.

oh,thats banter by the way.

It's ok, I am happy for them to bask in some glory whilst they can. It doesn't happen that often. biggrin

That's also called banter by the way

Like I said in a previous post.... If only Bale was better at rugby than football! At least then they would "probably" start winning some matches again especially as rugby is the national sport over there!

It's interesting how when this thread started England, Wales, Northern Ireland and Eire were all in the tournament and the banter was good. I think the English people on the thread were genuinely pleased to see all four nations doing well as were those from other nations. I word it like that because obviously the majority of posters on Pistonheads are from England. It's a sad reflection on some people that they are so uptight that they have no concept of friendly banter and given the opportunity simply want to be insulting and unpleasant. It's ironic that those same people would probably say that supporters at a rugby game all rub along side by side. Well guess what, it's just as easy to have banter with football people too, one just needs to try it some time.

But your "clinging" on to the fact that Wales have got further in the football.... Just saying like!

A good point, well made. I'll be cheering wales on now england are out, just dont see the hatred thing myself but hey ho. The scottish seem worse though, i'm happy for them to be independant, infact if we could have Holland or Germany instead of them that would be great....

Belguim, France hot favourites, obviously. The other 2 close..
Being the favourites seems to have been a curse in this tournament, I'll take that....

Anyone heading to Lille for Friday? smile
I'm in Lille on Friday. Can't wait. Whatever happens I'll be immensely proud of my team and they will receive a standing ovation from us at the end of the game.

We'll probably lose. I can't see us going 4 games unbeaten against Belgium. I hope we make a good go of it though and play better than we did against England and N.I

I do find Italy very easy to get behind.

Spain are fking boring. It might be technically excellent but it's just so joyless to watch.
Seriously?
Two European Championships and a World Cup?
I'd admit that right now Spain lack something but the display against Italy in the last European Championship was breathtaking at times.
Who will ever know how good the World Cup Final might have been if the Dutch had turned up to play football.
Don't begrudge, the Spain team of the last 10 years at its best is worthy of mention with any team of any era.

The dutch were confused, thought it was UFC.

A good point by Rich indeed, you agree, then go and spoil it with your sentements about the Scots!

We can take banter no bother (we have learned to accept we are ste), as some other Scots have posted (and it goes a long long way back) It's the media / pundits having England win everything before they enter that comes across as arrogant. Sets them up for the fall and subsequent jibes. But it is just banter!!

Some of my very closest mates are English (and fine fellows they are too) and I would dare to say they agree. It's that aspect which makes most take the piss (the Scots are most definately not alone). Strange how you choose to pick the Scots out for selective comments, maybe we are just more effective at it!

Relax everyone, if your team's out just pick another one to support. All English should choose Iceland, obviously smile

I'm just happy Wales are in the quarters, but it would be great if they can make a game of it. I expect it will be like round 2 in the World Cup when all my favourite minnows went out, USA, Mexico, Chile etc frown
The Mrs is Welsh so I be rooting for them...

Completely serious. I'm not saying it isn't technically excellent, it just bores the tits off me personally watching it.

I agree completely, successful doesn't necessarily mean entertaining, I too find Spain utterly dire to watch as a neutral.

Italy on the other hand have been playing some lovely stuff, quick incisive counter-attacking with one touch passing getting them in to some good areas.
