Back onto football for a bit.
I have been to 3 matches this season and watched 2 away matches (Chelski & City) on tv. So far I have not been impressed with any of our new signings. Maybe I should give them more time to adjust but so far we seem to be relying on the same players as last season.

They do look more like squad players than anything that will strengthen the team. However the left back has done well 'til last weekend, the new right back should be decent ( still a shame we let Tonka go),but the new strikers seem to get in the right places and fluff their lines.I have been to 3 matches this season and watched 2 away matches (Chelski & City) on tv. By far the biggest problem though, is the lack of cover in front of the back four when the ball is turned over, and that is down to Bilics tactics.

New players very much squad IMO & all pretty poor so far - as evidenced by their collective inability to beat a League 2 side or take us through to the later stages of the UEFA Cup.
Zaza I think will come good - he was in the Italian side at the Euro's (stupid penalty notwithstanding) after all. Calleri's utter ste.
Feghouli very disappointing so far, although I suppose he was just back from injury on Wed so I'll give him some time.
Masuaku's now out for 6-wks so we're back to having no fit LB
Weekend should be fun
Have to say I was expecting more from some of the players, BUT, it is still early days.
Is it me or does Tore legs go really fast but he doesn't seem to go anywhere quick!? 4/10
Calleri from what I have seen hasn't done well but at 23, new country, doesn't speak English I think he needs some time (5/10), (unsure why Fletcher didn't get a looking Wednesday as a starter - even Martinez who has seem to be scoring for fun.)
Masuaku - still adjusting but I think he will be a half decent player once he gets used to pace of prem (7/10)
Nordveit - not sure what to make of him - bang average so far, CD or CM? 6/10
Fernades on Wednesday look lively so think he could be good 8/10
Feghouli - a faster version of Tore in my view! 7/10
Zaza - yet to score but I think his touch and movement means he will come good, I think once he scores he will be half decent - is it true if he starts 16 prem games we have to sign him? 7.5/10
Payet - 11/10!!

Funny this Payet thing.
I get the adoration, and his involvement stats are amazing, but there are times when he completely goes missing when the chips are down. Case in point the Watford game for instance. Someone who popped on here from another team( you know the sort) said he was our best player that game. He did absolutely nothing for the last 60 mins from the point they started getting in the game.He could have only drawn that conclusion from the Rabona. I'd never want to be without him, he's exactly what I want to see every week, and I get the luxury player/make allowances scenario, but there are games where his two good bits of decent work wrongly get the plaudits.

Can be phenomenal; but also anonymous - plenty of times last season when he went missing; others when he was unplayable.
Love him (even if his corners are generally crap) as when he's good he's fking awesome.
