AC is out for a month after Mane's powerful chest punch Sunday off the ball.....
Mind you I was pleased he simply looked at the bloke as if to say "What the hell was that meant to be?" Most, dare I say it, foreign players would have dropped to the floor like a sack of spuds and started writhing in agony holding their head. rofl
The goalie did split his eye open later though... again Carroll didn't event stop to take notice.

Blimey you must be as old as RichB & I. eek
Only 62 11/12ths, used to live in Green Street, and I worked next door in the telephone exchange, could look out the window and see in the ground.
My first address was in Harold Road off of Green Street. My grandmother and an aunt lived in the flats in Boleyn Road, behind the Chicken Run. If I couldn't afford to get into the ground I used to watch from her kitchen window where I could see about 2/3 of the pitch but not one of the goals.

I always used to look up at those flats and wonder what people could see, now I know! laugh

Never seemed to be that many people watching from the flats over the last few years.

There was a decent shot taken during the last game that was in one of the papers though which gave a pretty cool view - you could see most of the pitch & the goals.

Before the media "pod" became a permanent feature a few years ago there quite often used to be kids on the flat roof bit between the East Stand & the Bobby Moore in the second half watching the game.

And of course the old Chicken Run was lower and smaller than the 'New' East Stand.

My dad spent his early years living in Harold Road!

So ...
We start with Carroll... We get 4 free kicks in their half ... Each time we give 8 side and backwards passes a the way to Randolph ... Who then launches to within 5 yards of where we were given the bloody free-kick in the first place. Why not just put in the box ???
Then we get a corner ..... And go short ... With Reid, Ogbonna and AC... And blast it over.

And as I type ... We put a corner in the box at hast ... And get a penalty .... It's not fking rocket science is it ????

Nervy but a win; looked ok at times and effort etc there, agree re AC and corners. Poor second half and couldn't see point of bringing Ayew on - rather keep Lanzini and try Fletcher and AC together.

Still, wins a win; atmosphere pretty good at times plus I got home quickly.

Ref was a shambles, haven't seen that many fouls given for nothing tackles for a while or lots of worse fouls ignored.

Bring on hull on Sat. hopefully might see WH score more than one goal at home.

On TV the two hacks on Payet looked so blatant that they should have been clear yellow cards.
