As you say, no chance. He's under contract to 2021 so he will be sold but to a club that WHUFC want to sell him to, i.e. in Europe not the Premiership.
Actually it wasn't that Rich - can't see that Arse would want him. Replacement for Sanchez/Ozil

Funny this Payet thing.
I get the adoration, and his involvement stats are amazing, but there are times when he completely goes missing when the chips are down. Case in point the Watford game for instance. Someone who popped on here from another team( you know the sort) said he was our best player that game. He did absolutely nothing for the last 60 mins from the point they started getting in the game.He could have only drawn that conclusion from the Rabona. I'd never want to be without him, he's exactly what I want to see every week, and I get the luxury player/make allowances scenario, but there are games where his two good bits of decent work wrongly get the plaudits.

He's had his head turned presumably by a top-6 club.
Players have so much power, an exit this window now inevitable.
You say that but why would anyone want a player with this awful attitude. Players have so much power, an exit this window now inevitable.
It would be so so nice if the hammers refused to sell him & just let him rot but we all know this will not happen.
As always the player will no doubt get his own way, i just hope West Ham get a decent price & they fk him off abroad somewhere.
What a cockroach !
If he said that he doesn't want to play for us, that's a different thing altogether from saying he won't play for us. The club would have to continue paying him I think as technically, he is available for selection.
What he did when he got on the pitch is another matter but he'd probably do his profile more damage if he played badly (and by badly, I mean continued stray passes, wild shooting etc etc that could be construed as deliberate).
I can't see it happening but it would be great to see the club call his bluff and pay his wages until the end of the season and just not play him at all - it'd cost them a couple of million quid in wages but it would send out a strong message that players don't hold all the cards, despite what their agent might tell them.

Your second paragraph is exactly what he has been doing this season ( not deliberate but his head was gone because he wanted out). What he did when he got on the pitch is another matter but he'd probably do his profile more damage if he played badly (and by badly, I mean continued stray passes, wild shooting etc etc that could be construed as deliberate).

I want him gone straightaway, get the money and strengthen the squad with it
A big part of me thinks we might see a different more spunky team when he's out the way.... And a revitalised Lanzini amongst others .
I don't want to defend DP but he possibly thinks he was promised the earth with big name signings taking the club forward and ended up in a relegation scrap. We bought very badly pre season and he's probably fed up with playing alongside sub standard players. Unlike us Payet has no love for the club, it's just a job for him.
Having said all that he's being very unprofessional and possibly making himself less attractive to others.
I wouldn't sell. If he won't train or play, let him rot.

I don't think that washes BC. He was happy to sign an extended 125 grand a week contract playing with those players last season. 90% of our starting 11 players this season have been last seasons. This is about ego, petulance and money. If it was anything to do with ambition, broken promises, homesickness etc, he would have put in a request and explained his reasons surely.Having said all that he's being very unprofessional and possibly making himself less attractive to others.

The Bilic interview is very telling if you listen to whole thing, rather than just the edited bits. He talks about how much time and effort has been invested in Payet ( read indulged his every whim and sulk up
to now). His very last sentence is about getting the "team" back.
Bilic has been breaking this to us gently over recent weeks.Having never been hooked significantly in his time here, Oayrt got hauled off after 67 minutes, then benched completely, then brought on at the death with game over.
I admire Bilic for what he's done here, but our performances have been so appallingly bad, we need the money to entice some quality into the squad.
Think I'm with SJC on this re selling.
Much as it would be satisfying to stick him in reserves (they shouldn't have to suffer his attitude), let him get fat and lose his place in the French side there's currently value in him, although I have zero confidence in the Clubs current ability to sensibly re-invest, and presumably he would have been a draw for anyone coming to the club.
Provided that he's not sold to a UK side in don't care where he ends up.
Lanzini's younger, quicker, just as talented and apparently less of a tosser. If Slav can resist hauling him off in 60 mins he ought to be the attacking focus moving forward.
