I think he thinks the Dutch league is the one that we should all look up to as a shining example of how to do it. Although quite what a Dutch team has won in the last 10-20 years I'm not sure?

but to answer it....
Of course the Dutch leaque isn't a shining example, with (just) kids you win nothing, see Dutch leaque. (although without "kids"/talent you wonder if a leaque really has any connection).
But the ridiculous spending of Arab, Asian and US money (are there any true English clubs left?) in the EPL and the UEFA bias towards a couple of leaques isn't either. Let alone the current Chinese spending spree...
But no worrries, nothing has changed in the world:
Zlatan just saved United and Odegaard just went from Real to Heerenveen. Which I believe was my point.

Klott moaning about our long balls. Someone should remind him we played more short passes than they did, and a proportion we both played long 1 in 5 times.
Great to see us come back. Especially when we were so poor.
And Loveren, still its the mourinho way he ALWAYS reverts to type.Great to see us come back. Especially when we were so poor.
I'm spent. I thought we shaded it but can't say that it was an unfair result. Gutted we didn't get the 3 points if I'm honest but we remain unbeaten in 16 and that shows a huge improvement.
Not Pogba's finest performace but his days in derbys will come. Would have loved to have got 3 points closer to City after their horrendous result earlier. Lets keep pushing and see where we get but that was 2 points dropped today and we can ill afford that.

Honestly would someone please explain what is good about him? He's not a quick player, not technically skillful, not...well everything!!!I joked, and then realised it was true, that the final period of the game, where we looked so strong, did not feature Pogba, he hardly touched the ball. He was nothing other than a huge hindrance to us and added next to nothing to the game. I know Fellani can be a bit of a donkey but at least we didn't pay half a trillion quid for him and we have the sense to keep him out of the first team for a lot of the time.
1-1 was fair enough but without Pogba....
£100m and this was the best we could find....???!!!

If he had converted his chance and not given away a penalty he wouldn't have figured on the negative. Small margins.
I think there's plenty to come in time.
To be fair, he had an awful game even without those 2 points. But he is someone who will adapt to the PL and someone who can create and score goals (he's been unlucky on that front). But he needs to stop pissing around on the ball so much as he is prone to losing it in st positions. I think there's plenty to come in time.

I don't get this internal criticism of a young player just because we happened to want him enough to pay that price. Would you rather go back to Rooney in midfield keeping possession above all else or playing the Hollywood ball out to the right wing, or a few years ago to the likes of Cleverly etc who got a ball played to feet, panicked so much that they fumbled control or if we were extremely lucky, they got a pass away sideways or backwards to a red shirt? He brings composure, a bit of the unexpected, a bit of guile and a hell of a lot of strength. Yes, he's been struggling to find his place in the team for the first 3 months and still 'goes missing' occasionally but I'd rather have him than most of the ste we've had to put up with since the days of Keano and Scholesy together.
Would you rather he'd gone to City as ready made replacement for their aging midfield machine called Toure? Cos he could have done quite easily. The money's not important, we're Man United, we generate pot loads of it.

Lies, it's amazing.By the way I was wrong, the Dutch leaque is an example; Football isn't just about spending ridiculous amounts on many average players (the EPL is full of them) and getting a free ride of UEFA (4 to 5 CL spots to give you an example, a favourabe drawing scheme another).
It's about tactics and bringing young players as well.
Rashford should've played today.
