I can't really get excited about the loser cup or the Euro loser cup.

It's below me. These are the cups that I grew up laughing about. We used to play our reserves in the lower cup, and the Euro loser cup is arguably even less credible a competition.
As I said earlier in the season, it started off as not being a priority, but when we had our bad start, it was an important springboard to building confidence and a winning mentality. And that's exactly what it gave us. I'd like to continue the winning mentality.I agree with all that. It's good for the side to keep winning, but winning either competition is nothing to be proud about! Winning the loser cup just means you put out a better side than the other big teams; winning the Euro loser cup means you're the least bad loser team in Europe.

EVERY football clubs should exist to win trophies no matter what they are - maybe its not as big as some that you can boast to down South to your Arsenal fan mates but NO club should turn their nose up at any trophy especially a club like UTD Try getting to the finals rather than the pub with your mates.. you might actually enjoy them

Arrogance? Because I don't think 2nd tier cups are very exciting? Heaven help us. Chippy Spuds!
IM sorry but every cup is important ,even if you dont think it is.Firstly almost every supporter of most teams would love to see their side win a cup of any sort.Secondly the league cup for example....how many times has that been the catalyst for a team to go on to better things...city and chelsea both won the league cup before any title.the question is not if you would prefer to win the league or ecl,but if you dont win those why would you not want to win the league cup or europa cup ?
A cup is a cup, maybe less important but we should aspire to win every trophy we compete in,and celebrate every cup we do win.You can go a long time without trophies in football.

Well said sir ,
"Thursday night, channel 5"...sung the song myself plenty of times. But that was when we were almost guaranteed ECL football every year. Time's are different and I've seen the finals of the Europa being played and it means something to both sets of players and fans. You can't tell me it doesn't. Yes United should aspire not to be playing in that competition but frankly we are, as such we should play to win it. My only reservation being if being knocked out of the ECL into the Europa. I would have no issue with fielding weaker teams as frankly I see it as unfair that this happens. Those in it at the start should be the only ones with the opportunity to win it. The champions league is a misnomer, joke title. It's not just for champions which is what it intimates.
That's why I'd always choose a domestic title win over a european win.
I have a mate who's given up all his europa league tickets so far, I wonder how he will be the closer we get to a final.

rotterdam 91 was amazing, who wouldn't want to repeat that ?That's why I'd always choose a domestic title win over a european win.

Winning a cup is better than winning no cup. That's self-evident. But they're not trophies worth getting excited about or remembering.
Obviously it's better to win that not win. But, in this case, even winning isn't really good enough for a side like Utd. We should be aspiring to much bigger things.

If you're the club's accountant then you might be more interested in top 4 but real fans will enjoy the success and a European final is a great trip.
Also who knows how long it'll be till the next league trophy arrives. I'm sure Liverpool fans didn't think they'd be waiting this long so if you're going to pick and choose excitement you may find you'll have a dull life for the next 30 years.

Try harder...I used to dream of a decent run in the Euro Loser cup or Milk Cup, because there wasn't much else on offer.

Absolutely. The Europa League is the only cup we've not won yet. Be nice to win it,wouldn't it. Has any British club managed to win every title possible yet?
