It'll never happen, but it would be great to see the Champions League go back to just the top 1 or 2 from each league and everyone else goes into the Europa League.
I think I'd go with League and (top) Cup competition winners from each nation going into the Champions league, with then an allocation of teams below that going into the Europa, just to give a bit more gravitas to the cup competitions.

Agree not a cat in hells chance though, so long as the money is generated in the way it is currently.

Well, today I met Shay Brennan's brother. He's working in a petrol station in Bracknell.

Lovely chap, could talk football all day long. Likes to wind up Scousers.

I'm tempted, next time I visit his site, to get him to sign my '68 European Cup Final programme (inherited from my dad who was there on the day).

Jose is going to have to give them a bit of a kicking at half time. We may be a 1-0 up, but we've been bloody awful.

well, that wasn't so good. Defenders all over the place, literally. Bailly looks like he's half pissed, not sure what's up there. Good job Zlatan got in with a Worldie of a freekick whistle

Fellaini.

Enough said. He's not a footballer. We very rarely manage to look at all fluid with him in the side.

Still think 2-0 may make things a bit nervy in France, so I'd like to see at least 1 more - they're going to be very dangerous at home.

I must be in the minority, I think we look pretty good. How it's not 4 or 5 I don't know.

Lots of forward play, lots of possession just need to tighten up the finishing.

Makes a nice change after the last few years.

But that's just me.

Well we've played a lot better and not won this season, so that's a refreshing change. We were a lot better in the 2nd half, but surprisingly shaky at the back all night which is a bit worrying. Still, God got his hat trick (he loves St Etienne for some reason) and a 3 goal cushion for next Wednesday is pretty much as good as we could have hoped for.

Ewood next, quite a different looking team I would think.

Much better second half. Dreadful defending in the first half.

Not the best hatrick in the world. Zlat is awesome but was disappointingly 'cheaty' last night.
