How's Klopp doing compared to Brendan?

There's a style that matters and I'm happy. Let's see where we are next year.
BRafter his first 30 games = 45 points.
Klopp currently has 59 points after 30 games this season (although he start mid-season last year).

The top 6 are sharing the points out between them, it's pretty tight up there. There's no mystery as to why we are where we are. Point comparisons with Moyes and LVG are pretty pointless. We're better now, but the draws aren't good enough. If we'd have won just 3 of the 11 games we've drawn, we'd have been joint 3rd now. We've simply got to convert more chances. We've literally battered teams 0-0. This EPL season is a write off for all but Chelsea and Spurs. In the race for top 4 I hope we win the Europa. We've lost 3 EPL games all season, same as Spurs, everybody else has been beaten more times. That's progress in my book.

Two trophies and a community shield win would be a decent return. The great thing is Mourinho won't be happy with that and we'll go again next season.

Completely agree. As a workmin progress we're worrying everyone else and the Souds are milking their couple of seasons in the limelight

c'mon Sye, he has been extremely unlucky & they should really have at least another 20 odd points.
And let's be honest LvG and Moyes didn't have the burden of having Zlatan on their team......

Where are you getting that info from? We were on 47 points in LVG's last season. Whilst it's coulda woulda shoulda, last season we would have been 3rd in the table, 4 points off the top.

Maybe you mean the first 28 games in charge - halfway though a season for LVG?

Even that doesn't seem right.

Not looking good for Shaw. Seems a bit like the De Bruyne situation at Chelsea...

Not looking good , were rumblings under lvg about his commitment and lifestyle , mourihno has come out and basically publicly slaughtered him for it.
hard to have sympathy for any fool who tosses off the privilege of being a premiership footballer .

There's a certain amount of hanging the player out to dry in those comments though, hardly going to help he re-sale value.

I feel quite sorry for Luke Shaw actually.

Why does Jose do this ? surely it just alienates players & can't be good for team morale.

Sometimes I get the impression that Jose thinks he's bigger than the club

It sounds like Mourinho is the one that wants to be tossed off, figuratively of course. Instead of just moving on a player that he doesn't really fancy, he will destroy them in the media and allow nature to take its course. What a st.

It's not just Mourinho, LVG came out and said he's not fit enough too. I feel for him due to his injury but if he's not willing to put the effort in then he's not going to play, simple. No coincidence that two managers have pulled him on it.

Yea but surely it's for the manager & club to sort out .

He's even had a pop at his strikers for missing a few chances too.

Little wonder the Chelsea players got shot of him.

Didn't he report back earlier than everyone else in the summer and was working on his own in an attempt to get fit for the season? that doesn't sound like a lack of effort.

Either way though if Jose doesn't fancy him then he doesn't fancy him, no need for a response like this imo, its tantamount to bullying.

But if LvG and Jose have called him out on it then something must ring true. He might have reported back early, but resorted back to old ways of not putting the effort into training and not committed to becoming a pro. Perhaps Jose has tried everything behind the scenes and nothing has changed, so when asked a question in a press conference and he answered honestly.

Players respond differently and this might be a kick up the backside. Players are protected enough as it is and a little home truths wont be an issue.

He has missed training sessions due to lifestyle ,
Doesn't train like a professional , has been warned countless times .
Jose has been more than patient as was lvg, when is enough enough ?

Jose is right , Shaw's got serious lifestyle issues and needs a kick up the arse.

Franki68 - Any details on the lifestyle issues? I thought the main issues where struggling to come back from the bad injury but didn't realise that was only a part of the picture.

Would be good if he could clarify, and if he is wrong, admit that we have made progress under Maureen - objectively and subjectively.
