It's not just Mourinho, LVG came out and said he's not fit enough too. I feel for him due to his injury but if he's not willing to put the effort in then he's not going to play, simple. No coincidence that two managers have pulled him on it.
Didn't he report back earlier than everyone else in the summer and was working on his own in an attempt to get fit for the season? that doesn't sound like a lack of effort. Either way though if Jose doesn't fancy him then he doesn't fancy him, no need for a response like this imo, its tantamount to bullying.
Doesn't train like a professional , has been warned countless times .
Jose has been more than patient as was lvg, when is enough enough ?
Jose is right , Shaw's got serious lifestyle issues and needs a kick up the arse.
"Chelsea were also interested in Shaw, but they backed away from a deal fearing the teenager's excessive pay demands would cause friction in their dressing room...."

Would be good if he could clarify, and if he is wrong, admit that we have made progress under Maureen - objectively and subjectively.
Never mind how many trophies klopp and poch have won between them the last 3 years compared to Jose ,if Jose has lost it what does that indicate for these two win fk alls ? Alpinestars said:

Even the Metro article states that Jose had the same amount of PL points after 28 games. Considering Jose has had Ibra, Pogba and Mkhitaryan at his disposal I wouldn't say he's made objective progress.TEKNOPUG said:
Hardly a surprise when you are paying an 18yo £100k a week, especially when he's out injured for 15months. He has a year left on his contract, by which time he'll have already banked £20m. He'll probably retire
eh? you signed him in 2014 so 3 years at £100k a week = about £8M after tax(not that that is to be sniffed at)

Trouble is at the same time we have started to be really poor at converting them. I saw something somewhere that stated that between Rashford's and Martial's last 48 shots, they've only scored something like 2-3 goals total.
Now you can say partly that's down to Jose, but you need to look far more at the players. Strikers need to finish, be composed, and Ibra aside (and even he, at times, hasn't been) they just aren't being so right now. We need more from them - hard to blame Marcus due to age but Martial really can do better, as we saw last season. Had hoped Mkhi could put a few more in too, and I'd wager JM had hoped for a higher goal output from Mr Rooney too.
As for digging Shaw out, well you can only hope they have tried everything internally first. Sometimes there is only so much you can do, and perhaps he sees this as the last resort. It's too late though, by the sounds of it.
It's a real shame to see a player go this way for us & maybe it's the injury but even before, in LVG's first season, there were noises around this. It's not new to have these issues, SAF had his struggles too with some (Ravel Morrison, anyone?) but the public approach is. Not sure I like it, but if the player is happy to soak up the cash and not put the effort in then it's hard to have sympathy.

Wow. The draws are hurting us and our points tally it's not rocket science. We've lost 3 games in the EPL this season. Jose knows his stuff, that is clear. The tactics are sound.
Shaw is a typical example of too much too soon and not enough appetite. Shame really as the kid is talented but probably thinks he's better than he is.

Not enough appetite for the game, at least. Pies maybe more so. Alledgedly.Shaw is a typical example of too much too soon and not enough appetite. Shame really as the kid is talented but probably thinks he's better than he is.
Anyone who does it appreciate the substantial improvement in Uniteds play since Jose took over is to be quite blunt ...completely clueless about football .
The attempted wind ups are just making these posters look stupid and ignorant .
Meanwhile pep continues to make city worse as he did with Bayern and all these experts on here moaning about Jose.

£100k a week x 52 = £5,200,000 a year.
X 3 years = £15,600,000
So after his final year contract it will be £5,200,000 x 4 = £20,800,000
I have no idea about his personal tax situation but I'll guarantee it's not £20m @ PAYE!

Even the Metro article states that Jose had the same amount of PL points after 28 games. Considering Jose has had Ibra, Pogba and Mkhitaryan at his disposal I wouldn't say he's made objective progress.A) how many points did LVG get in his last 28 games, compared to Maureen in the next 28, ie, coterminous comparison, or
B) How many points did LVG get after 28 games last season.
Under those scenarios, Maureen has done much better. So under any scenario, he's done as well, or better. That's an improvement?
Whether he has certain players at his disposal is somewhat irrelevant, given LVG was given plenty of money and probably would never have attracted at least 2 of those players.
As a Saints supporter, it's not nice to see Shaw having issues. He seemed to be electric just before his injury, but has not managed to sustain form or fitness since. He was amazing at Southampton and I hope he can get back to his former days. Not sure I would have him back at St Marys as Bertrand is equally good but hope he succeeds somewhere
First chance I've had to see us for a few games tonight. Really hoping we can rediscover some kind of attacking form at home, crucial one tonight. I guess Ibra and Herrera will be back, fingers crossed their return brings at least some intent with it.
Fully aware it's likely to be a massive let down, but got to hope, right?
