Can see why JM did it, but in the last game Fellaini gave away a free kick a yard outside the area. He is a complete liability anywhere near to or in our own box.

My mates and I all called it when he came on. frown

Another draw snatched from the jaws of victory. I've given up any hope of finishing top two which is what I was genuinely hoping for at the start of the season. I'm happier with the performances but we're just not finishing teams off. Credit to Everton who deserved a draw yesterday.

Best chance for ECL football next season is probably winning the Europa League outright.

Rojo should have gone. Two footed challenge. As bad imo as Aguero's challenge on David Luiz. Maybe that the Everton player didnt react to the challenge saved Rojo from the red.

Yes for sure, it was a shocker. Crazily because the ref saw it and took (the wrong) action, the FA can't even do anything about it. Couldn't possibly dream of undermining our wonderful referee's by insisting on the correct decision, oh no.

I would argue though that Barry also should have been booked for his challenge on Ibra early on - that kind of set the tone for the match, and while it 1000% does not excuse Rojo's tackle it does demonstrate how important it is for ref's to stamp down on this dangerous stuff properly. Perhaps then players would have been more cautious from the outset but instead we got a match that was a bit niggly with a number of contact / fall injuries. But still, better that they focus on a bit of sweary arm waving, or booking people for jumping out of the way of challenges or kicking water bottles. That's FAR more important of course rolleyes

edit: also if you haven't seen it, be very careful about googling Marcus Rojo tackle. You might get more than you bargained for...

I totally agree with all your points up to the one, thinly veiled as a justification of Pogba's embarrassing dive. He isn't the only one, but that kind of st is ruining the game and needs to be stamped out. He's a beast and doesn't need to be 'jumping out of the way of tackles'.

The standard of refs is pretty poor. Not as bad as our finishing, but pretty bad.

What about the Ibrahimovic kick? That looked intention to me.

Rojo was a red all day long every day.

I can't agree with JM's opinion that the team is playing very well and just unlucky. There was only 2 shots of target yesterday and Everton wasted a few good chances too. There wasn't that big a gulf between the teams at all.

A goal difference of only +3 and 21 points after 14 games isn't bad luck. The team is a long way off where it should be.

Also the goal they scored was down to a goalkeeping error and a result of backspin on the ball.
Not convincing.

Yesterday's performance only had 20% of the great attacking play shown against West Ham but it was still at least twice as good as we were playing last year. Ok, we made the same mistake yet again in trying to shut up shop and we were lucky to have 11 men left at the end but mid-table or not I'm still pleased with the progress.
Looking forward to the next match just like old times... smile

biggrin well it was included more as it was the precursor to the bottle kicking, but I agree that flopping is a detriment to the game. I just would rather the bad tackles be taken out first (and yes, all teams have them).

Definately a booking if not a sending off if the 4th/5th official was watching the replays on the touchline.

Hopefully the FA will make an example here. Broken legs and facial injuries are not what I want to see on the football field.

It was also red in my opinion. I fully expect retrospective action to be taken. I can see a 3 game ban for violent conduct.

Listening to the interviews after the game JM wanted to point out how unlucky his team were, but refused to even comment on all the calls that went their way.

Not sure I agree, looks like he ends up sat on top of Coleman then as his arse slips off him his calf naturally comes down at the same time but his boot doesn't actually connect with Coleman's face.

Not deliberate for me.

The striker told MUTV : "It was a physical game, they played hard. I heard one of the commentators say I kicked someone in the head on purpose, but it was a 50/50 duel and he pulled me down.

"Trust me if I want to kick someone in the head, I know how to kick someone in the head and make him fall asleep. That is the only thing I have to say."

He's a black belt in case you were wondering what he means.

Ibra 'kick' was obviously accidental. Only someone who has never fallen over could think that must have been intentional!

I can guarantee it won't be the only thing he has to say.........he likes the sound of his own voice.

Not deliberate for me either...it was physical and these things happen.

Think Rojo was yellow carded for the foul. Don't think FA Will be able to hand out a retrospective ban.

He was, and because of the stupid rule it means he can't be punished any further even though he deserves to be.
