One of the best nights in football. Especially over the last few years as a United fan!

Will they play tonight ? Jose moaned about the pitch ,it is frozen.Theres a tweet going round with some of the players walking on it and you can hear the ice cracking.

Unless they get 20000 hairdryers out there there is no way it should be played

There is a risk of serious injury to some of the players if they play on that pitch!

Can United refuse to play or would it be loss of game? Pretty stupid to schedule a game there in December!

Can we just call it a draw? Overwhelmingly likely outcome anyway.

Anyone see any truth to these Alderwiereld (think that's how you spell it) rumours? Can't see it happening but at 25 million I'd say it's a great buy!
Spurs need to get him signed up sharply , he got a fantastic reception when he came on tonight at wembley.
There's no chance of that clause ever becoming active (summer of 2019 if the club pick up his extra year option...or something like that). He'll be offered a new contract this year at some point and it'll be removed.

hehe

Although given our cycle this should be our good game, before our hopes are dashed once again on the weekend.

We (&them) shouldn't be playing on a frozen pitch though, that's stupid. If it was a dead rubber then it wouldn't matter so much, but given it can still make a difference not sure what the alternative is? I'd imagine we don't want to have to go out there again in a week or so, the way December fixtures are.

Crikey ! That pitch looks a little on the firm side.

I reckon Utd should play full strength team & throw everything at the oppo to make certain of qualifying.

No need to worry about the weekends game.

It seems Jose agreed with you..pretty much as strong as we could go with from the ones that travelled, other than Dave not starting.

Fingers crossed no injuries.

Still looks fragile. Typical United, winning, dominating, but capable of giving a goal away at any point.

Had to work late & missed it frown

However I can confidently state we are back. Again. Until the weekend. Again.

Anyway grants to Henrikh, one of many I hope. Also it sounds like Bailly picked up where he left off, which is ace. How did the bearded wonder get on?

Bailly did pick off where he left off but could have been sent off for a kick out at the end. All a bit dull, but at least we won.

Ah ok, well yes a win is a win, I suppose this means we topped the group too which in fairness we really ought to have done. Not sure what it means with regards to who we get in the next round? I imagine it means we miss out on the teams dropping down from the CL, which is probably for the best.

Actually don't mind if Eric has a bit of a niggle to him, we've missed that a bit in our back line since Vida left. I mean Rojo we know can be reckless, but it's hard to imagine any of them being classified as hard men - so if Bailly brings some of that too then the more the better. Of course if it was just handbags then...

Also I'd not realised until today that the Reading draw brings another former CB hero back to OT - Jaap Stam. Loved that guy when he played for us, and was gutted when he left. Man our CB's could learn a lot from him.

edit - never mind, I see Fener was top. Ah well, first place is for try hards anyway. cool

No, Fenerbache won the group we finished second, that means we are unseeded and could face spurs or any of the other champions league rejects.
Surprised we are still 5/1 favourites (10/1 bar) but i backed us anywaybiggrin

Can't face any other English team so won't be drawn spurs. Still other teams in there that can cause us problems.
