Probably upset he didn't even get a sniff at Old Trafford! But important emough to start against Devon.
If he can't score against Plymouth what chance against Utd.

This. Pacrticularly when we're paying him >100k.

Kids look better the more of them play together.

Pretty awful game to watch but a win is a win, I suppose. Onwards and upwards...

Is Warnock right? "The U23's league is a waste of time? I felt sorry for Sturridge who made run after run in behind but they were just pass, pass, pass".

Lot of talk about Sturridge, whether he will stay now. He looked frustrated tonight, only 7 starts this season. Be interesting these next few days before the end of Jan.

I doubt he'll be off anywhere this month. If Warnock is right, Klopp and his staff will have seen it.

Most imprtantly we are tbrough
Klopp using these youngsters will tell him alot about whag he needs next year..me personally i love it, even if we dont hammer a team..a 16/17/18 year old playing in the fa cup against a decent league 2 team will teach them loads...
He has them in the u23 as he wants them to train his way so if and when he needs them he can call them in knowing they kmow exactly what he wants and how he wants to play...

He is not a fan of loans and u can understand why ..there is pluses and minuses to someone going away on loan and he is the boss so its his call...

Sturridge will want to go next year..he knows he is not no1 in big games but he will start against swansea..only so long that will wash with him

Trent had another good game..atm i see him as our best realistic 1st team prospect..probably as cover

Sturridge isn't a drag the team up a level player. That's not a criticism but some players games just don't work with teams that aren't playing well. Can you imagine him at Sunderland banging goals in like Jermain Defoe?

But in a good team that's playing well he'll score bag fulls. There isn't a better finisher in the league, though there might be better goal scorers.

His game is also better suited to setups that focus on getting the ball to two or three players who are there to score, not the everyone scores approach Klopp has, that's his other problem at Liverpool.

If he leaves it'll be because Klopp doesn't think he can adapt his game to get him back as our first choice.

I'd honestly cash in on Sturridge this window if we had a striker lined up that suited our style of play. In the meantime I really would like to see us line up like this if we ever got round to buying a proven left back as I'd also sell Moreno without thinking twice. We'd improve immediately and still be FSG cash friendly. Easy 30 million between Sturridge and Moreno this window if the replacements were available.

Milner Henderson
Lallana
Mane Firmino Coutinho

New striker, Can, Wijnaldum and even Origi fighting it out to get in that front 6. That makes our squad far more cohesive and stronger than what we have now without really spending a penny.

No doubt Sakho will go this summer for around 20 million, Ings probably when he's up and running for another 5 in the summer.

After we've sold who we need to we'll probably have another 60 million to play where we prioritise a left back and a striker. If there's any money left then another midfielder. IMO, a player that is of the Alonso mould - one that can control the game and genuinely spread the ball around.

Klopp clearly wants to give the kids a chance and from what I've seen so far I think Arnold, Gomez and Woodburn are closer to being genuine squad fillers rather than just getting a run in games like yesterday.

I thought it was telling that Trent Alexander-Arnold look more assured at RB last night than Moreno did at LB.

yep, he looks a great propsoect, bundles of pace and loves to attack - took him 15/20min to settle but certainly did not look out of place after that...
