If you went to a game where the play doesn't just follow the ball you'd realise how that's just nonsense. He's the natural leader on the pitch, the other players look to him and he doesn't hide. I'd so much prefer to see him in midfield rather than left back. In fact with Mane out, Milner would be better wide forward than moving Lallana there.
Maybe he doesn't want the role of Skipper - which involves off field stuff too. Maybe he just likes to go home and chill with his family/mates and not faff about with players grumbles/other stuff

Liverpool in 2017.

Played 6, won 1 (against league 2 Plymouth Argyle), drawn 3, lost 2.

Not good enough.

Klopp out?

We have looked poor in the last few games to be fair, I still trust Klopp but he is certainly not delivering with his team currently for sure.

But still 4th in the league only 2 pts off 2nd, I would have taken that at the start of the season.

Yes we still have issues, but show me a team that doesn't.

I think 99% of fans would say top 4 this year is a good season in the grand scheme, sadly we started so well that a few ( myself included ) started to dream a little to much.

I still have 100% faith that Klopp has a plan and is working to it and IMHO slagging off players and the owners is a bit like pissing in the wind.

I've supported them for 45 years and I will never stop. ( I just hope they fking win something soon laugh )

Absolutely, time to bring in Mourinho Pep Conte Poch Koeman, as the only PL manager to have won all his games so far this year.

Klopp might be the best manager in the world. But it's clear he's playing with a huge handicap called FSG.

Chelsea showed today what a world class keeper and world class striker can do. We either have the money to spend or we don't. I'm sure FSG are hoping that Gerrard becoming a coach is enough to distract most fans. Failing that I'm sure we'll get a letter to the fans. Again!

Add Draxler to the list of:

Texeira
Konoplyanka
Mkhitaryan
Salah
Depay

As has been said, over the last few years, FSG have tried to secure these players and not managed as players have been attracted elsewhere, in certain cases for much more money. FFS some of these players were happy to go somewhere to warm the bench so their motivation wasn't football.

I maintain Alli was a massive fk up and whatever the additional was someone should have seen the potential and coughed it up.

Clearly Klopp has targets but hasn't been able to get them - if the players aren't out there to sign then what are we meant to do?

In terms of what business can be done; The Sakho situation needs sorting and a replacement brought in if they can find one. Given our defensive frailty it's a shame Sakho's career came to an abrupt end.
Markovic doesn't appear to be in favour, so perhaps he should be released or maybe they think he's a slow burner.

Our lack of a plan B against teams who park the bus hasn't changed in the last 3 or 4 years. It's not a secret. Southampton may well do the same thing in the cup.

Hearing it all now. Starting with its not fair they came to Anfield and put 11 men behind the ball (we'll overlook they still scored 3) to now teams won't sell us their best players. Yet other clubs manage it. Perhaps these other clubs actually pay the price both you the club and the player.

Absolute nonsense we can't strengthen in January but other teams can.

And another reason why this story is just club pr, what position needs filling in January that didn't need filling last summer?

Is it a left back? A central midfielder? Perhaps a striker that suits our style of play?

These weaknesses didn't materialise after the season started. The only emerging issues would be Sakho and being surprised a £5 million keeper wasn't good enough.

An example of a good signing we could have gone in for and probably would have been able to secure and for not much more money than Klavan, would have been Fonte. Roughly the same age too, he would have brought leadership, PL experience and would have been an upgrade on Klavan. We need fixing now; not next Summer.

We knew Mane would be away for the African Nations way back when we first signed him; add to the fact that gegenpressing works well in a league with a 5 week Winter break and over the same period we play maybe 8-9 games. A bit of foresight could have helped the problems we have and are facing right now.

Such a shame we now have to wait until the Summer again to restart the process and who knows, also replace some of the bigger fish too. What a wasted opportunity this season!

So our captain is a coward and our manager is a liar. Speechless.

Do you really think Klopp has missed the points about Mane and the lack of winter break? If he were really that limited and thoughtless I doubt he'd be here. Although RT would probably see it as justification for his idea that FSG do things on the cheap...

So the weaknesses we're failing to address in January didn't exist in the summer?

I'm not pointing the finger at Klopp. I've consistently directed it at FSG.

You believe what you want, just don't be surprised when whatever improvements are made in the summer are funded by selling players.

We can then have this conversation again, where has the tv money gone?

In that case where is the genuine pace replacement / compliment to Mane? Arguably it lies only in Ejaria and Ojo - both still learning the game and neither of whom have featured in the league. He may have thought about it - but the lack of action is telling right now.
