Legends match against Real Madrid legends free to view on LFC TV starting shortly. Full house at Anfield too.
How is it that Liverpool have produced more legends than every other English team combined? It's an incredible feat and correlates to trophies won.
Especially when you consider all the Liverpool legends that aren't playing too!

Great set up from Gerrard for the goal.

I guess you don't watch these legends games to see great performances - you just watch to see the players again. Good stuff though. Oh to have Carra and Aggar as our CB partnership today...

Watching that 4 goal lead dissappear was annoyingly familiar.

Great goal from Gerrard, I thought he bossed that game today.

From what I saw today, Gerrard should and could still be playing for us

No chance he has the legs for Klopp's system.

He looked one of the fittest there but you'd expect that, he only retired recently. Great goal he scored but ultimately they're big kids reliving their youth. Nice to see footy played with smiles

I wonder how much we'd get Lukaku for?

He'd only look as bad as Benteke did. We need a striker that excels in our system. As much as it would annoy the Blues, I don't think Lukaku would be a good fit.

James Pearce quoted on TIA as saying that Origi is going nowhere this summer and Klopp still thinks he can get the best out of him.

He's a long way from being an N'gog but for whatever reason he's not stepping up this season. I rated him but god knows what the problem is this season.

Origi is another confidence player. When things are going well for him, he can look like a potential world beater. He needs a consistent run of games week in, week out... sitting on the subs bench and getting 10 mins here and there affects him - he must feel like a bit part player and it can be hard to motivate yourself when you know next week you'll be back sat on the bench.

Origi has the qualities to be a top striker but he needs 100% game time; a season or two where he starts virtually every game, is allowed to make mistakes and have off days. I'd loan him to another prem team next season. Lukaku is an example of someone young who given games, has now started to bloom.

I can see game time developing a player while he makes mistakes but no-one gets that now. Once upon a time that happened in the reserves and when you were ready, you were ready. Loaning him off to another team just to make his mistakes might not be the answer either - he was already loaned out in France after we signed him and seemed to think it was beneath him and was fairly bad. I think he'd probably rather go altogether than do that again.

Divock Origi will never be a starter at us.
Sadly we are in a situation at the moment where he is our 2nd choice striker with Firmino being the 1st.

If Sturridge wasn't a tampon then I don't think Origi's lack of development would come in to question as he wouldn't get many minutes. He would just be there as an option on the bench.

If Sturridge gets sold in the summer then we need another striker who can compete for that starting place which will in turn give Origi time to develop under Klopp. Me personally I don't think he will get to the heights of the quality of attackers we've had along the years.

Wether that means we should sell him or keep him as a back up I don't know.

I've seen we've been linked with James Rodriguez. Hopefully not.

I completely agree that he needs to be playing regularly to get his confidence up and getting the best out of him, but I don't think a loan is the answer.

If Klopp sees him as part of his plans then he needs to come up with a way to get him in the team more regularly, and not just bit-part substitute appearances every now and then.

This, I think. He has shown he can finish, really really well. From difficult angles too. He's not an N'Gog. Or even a Mellor, come to that. If he was a flop, he wouldn't have demonstrated what he can do - nor be the 3rd highest scorer in our team this season, despite having relatively few minutes. Consistency will be his problem. And Klopp's.

Was hoping it'd gain more traction amongst the blues lurking on here smile
Great to see Robbie, Stevie and Aldo scoring again.

Origi though has been a flop. He cost the best part of 10 million and just hasn't pushed on, especially after his injury.

At least we agree he needs game time if he is to flourish. He's not going to get that here I think as is.

I personally think Klopp is just talking him up so we get the most money for him as possible.

Well written article, that. It does feel a bit like "well you didn't want high ticket prices, so now you ain't getting another stand". They could really do with coming out and actually saying something positive about club development going forward or there will just be speculation, like this.
