I'm flying to Alicante in April and as it would turn out, Valencia are at home to Real Sociedad, so if possible it might be worth a watch.

Has anyone on here ever been to a game, or could they recommend any websites/forums with info about it? I will be travelling on my own, so don't want to bother with it if it's going to be a bit dodgy!

Cheers.

Edit: Can a mod correct my typo in the thread title!

Try the Valencia club website. If not, then Viagogo.

I once met the health and safety manager of Real Sociedad FC. I asked him how they avoided crushing when the home fans left the match and he said "Never put all your Basques in one exit". getmecoat

Yep, last saw Valencia vs RMD - tickets purchased locally by a part-time ex-pat mate, but we have bought tickets from club website previously.

Beware though, the Mestalla is a st-hole of a stadium, it has had no investment since they started (then stopped, due to the economy going tits-up) building its replacement back in 2008 or so. It has no facilities to speak of, little in the way of refreshments available, and is falling apart at the seams. Lighting a spliff seemed to be the way most folk around us 'refreshed' during half time.

There are not usually a lot of away fans at Spanish games which can be a little strange but just get into the atmosphere and enjoy!!!

Went to the Valencia v Swans away match in 2013. Was amazing watching the game in the blazing sun, high up
In the Mestalla.
It is a crappy stadium, in that it's run down and worn out. However, it's was a fantastic trip away.
Bought my tickets from Swansea, so can't help with that. I do recommend taking in a game though if you can.

Booked my ticket the other day and very much looking forward to it. £26 for a seat low down near the half way line, with my hotel 2 minutes around the corner smile
