Not sure why there’s any surprise. We have an average team filled with average players and one star. We are lucky to be 9th to be honest. I dont think there’s a single game coming up that you could confidently predict the result of.

Whomever decided that Caicedo was a £100m defensive midfielder needs to be sacked immediately.

Does make you realise how effective the recruitment team that Abramovic put in place were. Yes there were a few misses, but they mostly got it right straight away

This lot... not so much.

It's forgotten that the beating heart of those early teams was put in place by Ranieri. He signed Lampard; he developed Terry. I recall he was also responsible for Cech & Robben.

We have at best a 10% hit rate of buying good attacking players…and keeping them over recent 20 years of history and that success rate has now fallen dramatically over the last 18 months when have spent the most…

In good I mean

1… ability
2….attitude to work for the team
3…. Have we a clue what we have…look who we sold for peanuts, Kevin, Mo, etc
4 ….more attitude to stay @ Chelsea and not want to be a a bigger/better/warmer club in Italy
5 ….look back and weep at players who fell @ 1-4

This thread is so boring now it's laughable.

The ever evolving cycle of drivel when we drop points;

1. Poch needs to be fired
2. Caceido isn't worth 100 million
3. Lets Bring back a sporting director who decided the Saudi league was the right sort of place to exercise there skills and abilities
4. We need players who play for the team

We have multiple games over the run in to the end of the season that are 6 pointers, stop fking moaning and get behind the team you are supposed to support.

Not disagreeing with your opinion, but my opinion is coloured completely by the inability to see even half the live games I would normally watch every season for the last 30years, still just scraped enough points for a Wembley ticket despite the weekly fiasco of ticket sales, over half the games I watched this season have been ones season ticket holders cannot attend in the west view. Not missed any Wembley final since full members cup against city, until this season so not a chance for the next one even if we beat city or the last one against Liverpool.
The club is now broken for many fans both on and off the field.

Fair play if you've been on the books for 30 years, the trouble with Chelsea is Chelsea.

Arsenal went down the pan, won absolutely nothing, and tbh still haven't won anything so where's the benchmark?

Look at Man U now, just imagine being a fan for them. Look abroad, Barcelona used to be 10 times better than Citeh are now yet went down the pan.

We've had a torrid few years of club issues and I'm afraid it's a case of you having to be patient. I also think the goalposts have changed when it comes to football in this country as well and you can't just turn upto any game and expect an easy 3 points.

That's just the cyclic nature of football though. Very few teams manage to stay consistent for extended periods of time. Real Madrid and maybe Bayen are probably the two that springs to mind, and Rangers and Celtic in Scotland, although that's maybe not very representitive.
Those of us who are old enough remember the heady days of Chelsea in the late 60's and early 70's and then within a few years it was 2nd tier and long years before a return to winning ways.
Even Liverpool had a lean spell for many years after its dominance in the Shankly/Paisley etc era.
I remember Utd getting dumped down into the 2nd division by Dennis Law's backheel goal for City only a few years after Sir Matt had retired, and they then had a long lean time until Sir Alex took over.
Look at Notts Forest, back to back European Cups in Cloughy era, and then pretty much nothing since, including a long spell in the lower divs.

This implies that it is uncontrollable destiny, just the slings and arrows of misfortune.

Wheres with Chelsea today, it would appear to be a simple case of f*ckin idiots in charge, spending record amounts of money incredibly badly.

They aren't the first to do that........although, they have easily surpassed previous examples and elevated financial irresponsibility to a whole new level.....

That's very much a septic thing though, they have to be best at everything, even if that means winning the category of 'most reckless financial miss-management' award.......

Apparently no one wants to go to Wembley with me later this month…
still tickets available tomorrow, no points threshold to jump as long as you are a member.

Semi final usually has a few ticks available at this stage, I'd had gone but I'm on holiday.

A lot of stuff on social media following Enzo's set to at the end of the game with Mount. Enzo was apparently taunting him, saying "we are Chelsea, coward, coward". Many of our fans think this is a good thing, and shows Enzo is "proper Chels", whatever that is.

My take, Mount was a kid in the academy who, thru hard work and determination , fought his way into the first team and lived the dream. Until we decided to sell him. He was an important player for us. Enzo is just another gun for hire, who is "proper Chels" because we offered more money than anyone else. He hasn't got even close to justifying the price tag. Perhaps he shout shut his mouth, show some humility, get his head down and concentrate on football. When he provides the pass that wins us the CL, like Mount did, he can give it the big I am. Until then, the jumped up little prick should keep quiet.

Utter bks. We didn't want to sell Mount. He wanted 250k a week having been pony for the entire season and asked to leave because we wouldn't pay it. But you'll ignore that because he's an academy kid.

Mason is the real mercenary here, gone for money. We saw it in his departure video where he couldn't give two fks about Chelsea. Unlike Azpilicueta who joined us as an adult and was in tears. Good riddance to him.
If Mount sees Stirling earning £350K/week, I'm not surprised he thought £250K was reasonable.
