If Mount sees Stirling earning £350K/week, I'm not surprised he thought £250K was reasonable.
So he went for the money clap

Yes, like Ashley Cole.

Point is, Ashley Cole never wanted to leave Arsenal, but because he'd come up thru the academy, they thought they could pay him less than inferior players they'd bought in, because "he's Arsenal thru and thru". Just like Chelsea did with Mount. So yes, Mount went for the money, but it was our own doing.

Bloody hell, Ashely Cole was a great LB.

I'll always remember that match against United when he cheekily gave Ronaldo the "you're in my pocket" gesture after keeping him under lock and key all game.

I remember that too... up there with Drogba scoring in the Champions League and celebrating in front of the Liverpool bench after Benitez had criticised him before the match smile

If Mason really loved the club all that much he'd have accepted a lesser offer. Conor is an example of someone who has stayed despite numerous offers elsewhere because he loves the club. If we offered Conor a new contract he would sign it. He will likely be sold due to FFP but be welcomed back because there is a complete difference in attitude between them.

Calling out Enzo as only joining for the money is just bs when Mount left for money. All because Enzo had a bit of chat? Even Gilchrist was trying to snap into him suggesting he pissed a fair few off in the squad.

It’s all very nice to think these players ‘should’ play for the club they love etc, but what you’ve got to remember is that this is work, a job, just like anyone working for a company. If the firm down the road offers you double the wages to come to work for them, who wouldn’t take it. We as fans wouldn’t dream of changing our allegiance but when’s it’s just a job at the end of the day I don’t blame anyone for going for a higher salary, I would.

Gallagher is an example of someone under contract until 2025. Chelsea haven't accepted any bids for him, so there have been no offers for him to reject or otherwise.

Players want to get paid what they are worth. Mount for example, was worth a lot more to Chelsea financially than say, Sterling but Chelsea didn't want to pay him his worth. They also got £50m for him. Mount could have seen out his contract and left on a free, with no doubt a bigger salary. Loyalty seems to mean accepting derisory pay terms to some people.

I take your point on that but think we did accept 40-50m bid from Everton last season. Just calling out the hypocrisy of slagging off one player for joining saying he's a gun for hire and not the other. There is very little loyalty in the game anymore.

£40m plus £5m add ons in January. There is no evidence that Chelsea accepted this bid though. If they had and CG had then rejected personal terms, every other club would know the price and I expect he would have gone by now. And rejecting Everton is not a sign of loyalty to Chelsea, more a sign of a functioning brain hehe

Don't worry, I get the feeling Everton will have a good change to cancel out those 2 deducted points in their next match...

Saturday no away wins, Sunday only away wins. Does that mean tonight's another crappy draw against a bottom of the table team? hehe

Bloody hell, Palmer is a bit special. Wait till you see the highlights if you're not watching, how you score from that I don't know. Well I do... but hardly anyone can do what he just did....
