Unlucky lads, I think you deserved at least a draw from the game.
That word again. I prefer "cursed". We played well at Goodison Vs Utd too, 3-0 definitely flattered you that day too

apparently we have had 47 shots on goal in the two games against Utd this season. Zero goals.

Saying that, the fist game flattered them, second game they weren't scoring without the pens (which were stonewall pens)

On goal? Or 47 shots - some on target, some not?

With that dodgy keeper of theirs, that’s a lot without one sneaking in. I’m always amazed how pro players who do nothing else all week can miss the target constantly, given the size that it is …

The latter, 47 shots, not 47 on target

You've forgotten the fact that opposition keepers always have worldies against us (not that Onana did anything special, but he was a solid 7.5/10 when he usually chucks em in for fun).

All part of the curse smile

Pickford with 1 penalty save in 19. Admittedly the most important one, Vs Leicester last season, which prevented us going 3-1 down and probable relegation. Was the water bottle in evidence yesterday? First one was decent but he went the right way, I reckon he'll be a little disappointed he didn't get a bit more on it. Second one he got dummied. Garnacho was looking for both contacts IMO (clutching wrong foot on one?) but both stonewall... our fault for giving him what he wanted

Suppose we should be grateful there weren't more penalties, 2 handballs correctly not given because accidental / ball to hand / falling on ball. We've "seen 'em given" (against us, natch)

Jimmy Husband RIP.

I remember my dad telling me how he was kicked off the park by Panathenikos in the European Cup match in 1971, only lasted 10 mins or so, he reckoned it was pivotal. Sad day.

He was a regular when I was young enough to go to goodison with my mate who loved his bones he was always singing his praises, great winger with flair a plenty, he would put a lovely cross over for big joe on many occasion he could score too .as said was crippled in his prime RIP Jimmy.

I was hoping Bournemouth would do us a favour tonight. We're playing them shortly and we never do well at their place

From 0-3 down to 4-3 up. Must have been some half time team talk

I'm relieved at the result, but it doesn't bode well for when we play Bournemouth. Hopefully the training camp the players are on will involve telling everyone what a goal is and how to score them

Branthwaite called up to the England squad. Puts a few more million on his price tag for when we have to sell him to balance the books (again).

Simms with a 97th minute equaliser and a brace. Good value for 4m banghead

FFP/ Thelwell/Dyche has a lot to answer for (delete as appropriate). At least it puts the "sporting advantage" thing to bed smile

Edit: 3-2 to Cov now. 100th minute winner... What a game! (Certain somebody with the assist rofl << if you don't laugh you'll cry. Not like we could use someone who can score goals against teams like Wolves. And we'll always have Chemitri...for the bargain price of 17m...more "sporting advantage" I suppose spin )

Oh and Gykores now has a 100m euro release clause now (which is admittedly nuts)

It's balancing the books, also Simms didn't really stamp his mark for us sadly.

I think we've a few more years of pain ahead of us frown

Well, Beto and DCL aren't really "making their mark" under Dyches tactics. We seem to take pot shots rather than feed the striker(s)

As a kid, well he's 23 now, I thought he did alright and when he scored against Chelsea I thought he'd arrived. Can't say I followed his early career in the u23s but I know a lot of people rated him. (Ditto Cannon)

He did great for Sunderland and he's now doing the business for Coventry. Perhaps he needed a bit more time to develop/ hone his skills? Or maybe (the alternative Toffee TV push) the championship is his level and he's found it? Even that might have come in handy, but let's hope not smile

just can't believe we're so skint that selling the future talent for (relatively) paltry sums is the only option. But I guess we are frown - I think Branthwaite was close to a 15m deal with PSV (??) - Not sure how much enthusiasm there was on our side to let him go, or how close it got ?? At least we held firm on that one.

The Gykores interest is apparently from Arsenal although surely not at that price? Can't blame the club for that, he didn't want to come for some weird reason smile. Wonder if they'd consider Simms, and what the price would be? 25m? More? Less?

Re your last point. Sadly I fear you are right

Edit: Actually, selling Simms for 4m (rising to 8m) and buying Chermiti for 17m makes very little sense financially, unless Chermiti is a worldie in the making (or we absolutely needed 4m last August and 17m amortized was no issue. Looks like we were over regardless, so might as well have loaned him and kept him on the books. We could say it was a delayed sale to improve his value smile ).

We were told he had a "higher ceiling" but 6 months in and he can't get a game, and only a handful of minutes.

Edit2: PSR/ FFP, I've heard we've been called in early and they will announce both us and Forest Monday. Which would actually make some sort of sense. But all rumours and hearsay until we hear anything official

Results went well for us today. Forest and Luton with a draw and Burnley dragging Brentford in to the mix. We're only a point behind Brentford now with a game in hand and a better goal difference.

Obviously a second points deduction will fk things up again...

So we got deducted 10 points (reduced to 6 on appeal) for breaking financial regs by £20m. Forest are £30m + over and get a 4 point deduction.

Does anyone at the PL have a fking clue what they're doing? It's a proper shambles, they really seem to be making it up as they go along

Need to read up on the details but on the face of it, an absolute fking stitch up. Assume the delayed sale of Johnson held some weight? Wondered which way that would go: "OK you'd be under if on time" ( so lenient) vs "well he played 3 games and you got 3 pts from them, so add the 3 pts won to the precedent" (so 6pts + 3)

Any chance we get a lenient punishment? 6 (so 12) and I'll be really fked off...

its an independent panel that issue out the penalties depending on the punishments. Depending on the charges means how many points are issued to the club.

I presume Everton had a couple of charges which why they got 10 reduced to 6. Forest must have a single charge which is why they got 4 points.

This is good episode talking about the charges and why they where reduced on the Athletic Podcast from 27th Feb which goes into good detail.

Also, Baz on Toffee TV saying Chelsea have basically been cleared as "it was the old owners".

Which might explain the delay in approving 777...we can't use the same excuse

Whole thing stinks
