I think it's a case where if the ref had given it, it would've been accepted. I watched with a mate and he thought it was a pen but I was skeptical. If Saka hadn't made as much of a thing with his right leg, it would've been given but was one of those nights.

But in fairness they also had a shout for a penalty, which the ref ignored.

I think this will bring an end to the (IMHO silly) practice of Raya passing the ball to Gabriel and him handling/setting the ball before kicking it back to Raya.

I noted thus;
We were flying until that mistake and we were rocked massively by it. From there it felt we were stunned by every counter attack.
That said, they so nearly scored and missed. Saka should have buried it and not worried about a possibly red for Neuer. And finally I would HATE to be a referee with that kinda pressure, with a split second to judge.

proud of the team, proud of the fans. nice to win the next leg but it's good to be a gooner right now. this is what good feels like. can we win stuff ? over time absolutely.

this season just feels like a point where we can put clear water between now and getting drunk in the home end after drawing 1-1 at the Emirates with Wigan.

Wigan supporters giving it the large one in the home end left scars hehe

Cologne airport, Thursday night. Old English Division 1 players used to retire and buy a pub to run. Lukas Podolski has taken that to the next stage.

God that looks good. It’s making me hungry biggrin

Villa tomorrow, which I think will be another tricky game. No doubt Martinez will be on form including all his shenanigans.

No Kiwior or Gabriel in any of training sessions so might be light at the back with presume Zin and Tomi to cover and Partey / Rice going to have to do sweeper roles to support especially on Villas favoured counter approach.

Had hoped Luton might not implode at Citeh but that's a great finish for the opening OG off same player who score for us...

We know we have to keep winning, and winning well as Pool will eat up the GD with the run in they have, no way Palace will go full Atalanta v Pool at Anfield...ah well off to the match with a spot of lunch first COYG!!!

How did that Doner Kebab compare to the ones you typically get on the High Street in the UK?

Nervous about starting zin, we need early goals if he’s starting and to overwhelm villa.

Hopefully gab not training is just resting him after some tough games.

Need some time in the legs of partey and Jesus etc now so wouldn’t complain at them starting

Covered your under-18's this morning for the second time in a month or so as they beat Fulham 5-2 at London Colney. Very young Fulham, most of their under-18's are in the USA playing in a tournament so think it was a lot of their under-16's.

Chido Obi Martin will take the headlines for his four goals that goes with the four he scored against Crystal Palace recently but my man of the match was Max Dowman. Blimey, what a talent he is already and it's frightening how good he might get. He was only 14 on New Years Eve but he doesn't look out of place in the u18's and got four assists today. Very like Odegaard in his style of play, foppy hair, left footed predominantly but incredible.

Am sure you guys already know about him but heads up from someone that has seen him live, wow!!
Bad form to quote your own tweet but hey, who's gonna snitch?

Chido Obi Martin scored five goals yesterday against the Hammers u-18's at Little Heath. Really looks a prospect at 16; he's 6'2" tall already and beginning to fill out. Think he might get a regular spot in the 23's next season, that's 16 goals in his last five games.

We bottled it last year, so don’t rely on us hehe

It’s possibly in our hands.

Mistake by Zinchenko leading to off the post twice now, he's going to cost us if we're not careful and don't start playing better football.
