A dull exit from a dull competition, I'm not bothered. Unfortunately we'll be in it again next year, more dull games to watch.
hehe The competition is a lot more exciting when you win it
Really though? How many of the games are actually exciting? The first round games are normally dull, it's not until the last 8 things actually get interesting and even then the games are dull, both games last night were poor. Two legged ties are naff. Very few really memorable games in Champions League. Yes I'd love Arsenal to win it, but I'd much rather watch the Prem or even the FA cup.
I agree with this, the old European Cup/EUFA Cup/Cup Winners Cup etc were a much better format, but, the Champions League is about the money, not the football.

If they reverted to the old European Cup where just the champions of each league competed then it would indeed make it much more exciting right from the first round. Of course you then wouldn't have been in it for the last 20 years.

Win-win. smile

A very hard fought win that, hopefully we can shake off the 2 previous losses, believe we can score and be able to win games again and put last year's nerves out of our minds

Not the most fluid performance but a great result. Rice was bloody awesome, his ability to carry the ball really causes other team problems.

Five games five wins needed….starting against Chelsea on Tuesday.

Well after my all year struggle to get tickets, in which I had to use a website to get tickets for the luton game, I’ve got lucky and won tickets to Chelsea so what looked like no games this season has turned into two

Hopefully you're the lucky charm! If we play like we did v Wolves first half a relatively in form Chelsea would have scored at least 1 in, who knows which Arsenal or Chelsea will turn up! Shame we couldn't play them on the original date when we were peak and they were pants pre-internationals and they got knocked out of the cup it was rescheduled for anyway >.<

Yeah good result at a ground a few of the other big teams have gone to and struggled.

Remaining fixtures look like a minefield though.

Just doing the maths, and.......

If we win the NLD on Sunday, it would also become St.Totteringham's Day as well, as we'd be on 77pts and with 5 games left Spuds could only get 75 even if they won all their other remaining games.

Fingers crossed.... after 8 bloody years smile

Eh?!? Please, it was ‘only’ 6 years! 2017-2022, last year we managed it again.

Tbf, they really were pretty good for a while there. I’m glad they still didn’t win anything biggrin

(Not that we won much, but that ain’t the point)

Oooops......the 15/16 season was so hardwired into my mind as last time, I forgot about last year.

Not going to see live matches for past few seasons, its become less of a 'fixture' in my mind sadly.

Still........other than my piss poor memory, it will be nice to combine it with a NLD win as well.

NLD could be a feisty one this year. Every team loves a chance to deny their rivals a title, if the opportunity arises!

Very much so yes

Plus, they will be desperate to close the gap on Villa for 4th and a CL spot as much as trying to put a dent in our title chances.

Lots to play for for both teams.

Um you forgot we have Chelsea tomorrow first, hopefully already be on 77 points*, and therefore a draw would be enough (as not likely to close that 36 GD gap) but they'd probably still release a DVD to commemorate that THEY stopped our championship win rolleyes

*although as above not confidence of a win with our random effort generator/ not able to hit a cows arse with a banjo finishing ala Villa...

Cole Palmer possibly out tomorrow. That would help as he is by far their most dangerous player.

Meh pulling an Arteta I'm sure he'll be fine.
