Discussion
I was watching a game the other day, could have been a UCL or similar type game, and they were doing VAR checks there and none were taking more than 30 seconds, even the big calls like penalties. I don't understand why we have such long checks, more often than not decisions are pretty obvious on the first replay you can see it within seconds.

Five minutes thirty seven seconds that VAR check took at the end.. the longest since VAR came in.. utter bloody madness.
Not a "clear and obvious error" then I would suggest and therefore the referee's onfield decision should have stood? But would agree, there is too much vagueness, I don't even see why clear and obvious is in the rules as it makes no difference.

That bks does rather overlook the nonsense that we've got ourselves into though where Ben Johnson's (much as I like him) has become our go-to midfield sub.
