I am always amazed at the amount of shirt pulling that is allowed to go in the modern game.

Excellent half. Kudus should've scored.
Yes could taken a touch and picked his spot.
Antonio gets pulled about,no foul, from the resulting corner much less contact and it’s given against us ffs

And this is where we are so soft and naive. JWP get blatantly fouled, doesn’t go down touching wherever he wants to pretend, and as the ball breaks Emerson gets a yellow and is also out of the return. I don’t like play acting but we have to be a bit cuter ffs.

There you go,it’s simply too fking mentally taxing am to defend like that for 90 minutes.
Subs like last night changed the game, ours were unfathomable. PAC should have been off at 65 mins but he takes kudus off.

Well, hard to see how we`ll turn that around without Paq or Bowen.

Squad simply isn`t deep enough.

Still, could be worse... see Scouse.

Second goal a throat punch.

Can't moan about performance/effort.

Puddle deep squad unsurprisingly fks us.

Ps. agent Scama doing the business.

Massive ask without Pac,Emerson, and possibly Bowen.
It really was a stty watch again though, one shot in the whole game.Ninety three minutes with your backs to the wall is too much mentally, let alone physically.
Talking of which why is Coufal taking their tallest bloke for the first goal, and Cress the closest to the scorer (and wrong side )for the second ??

Think you’re answering your own question there with the backs to the wall mentality. Everyone makes mistakes, they must have been exhausted for the first and the second was a proper sucker punch for us. We’ll just have to go again next week and hope that all the coaching staff realise we’re going to need to go for broke as we need 3 to win and we can’t sit back, and set us up appropriately…

It was a bit of a vintage Moyes performance and the wheels came off right at the end but I do understand why he set us up the way he did, was saying to a mate we just don’t want any loose balls right as they scored their first laugh

We’re still in the tie, strange things have happened, so let’s see next week…

You are of course completely right.
However the game throws up so many paradoxes. We set up like a non league team playing a PL side hoping for a money spinning replay. 32 shots to one 1 shouldn’t be happening for any PL side in Europe.
Flogging the same players week after week playing this way will hurt you eventually, and you have to be very lucky to constantly get away with it. However, when you see our Championship bench last night, and the internationals they brought on,then maybe that’s why.
Would we have settled for 2 nil before the game baring in mind our injuries? Possibly ( and certainly 1-0), but I’d rather have seen us lose by 2 with a goal in each half but giving them something to think about in the mean time…we could have conceded four by the end,it was last ditch goal line defending and Fab that stopped it,and yet on another day Kudus scores early and the shirt pull on Ant might be a pen’ !
What sort of footballer is Johnson? Playing for a contract, comes on,gives away a stupid foul, and for the second, from a short corner ambles out to the crosser like he’s playing in the garden with his kid ffs?? No commitment to shut down whatsoever in the 92 minute with fresh legs.

So the return? No Pac,or Emerson,so let’s assume no Bowen, what happens up top? I’d like to see Cornet left
Ant and Kudus swapping wing and middle, and Ings behind and give them something to think about. Let Ings and Cornet prove a point one way or the other..will never happen thoughAnt had the beating of their centre half’s,but not when we only give him 5 touches of the ball.

Funny game footy.

Important home game vs Fulham before BL - least we'll have Paq & Emerson for that one.

Suspect Ings will start, Cornet working on his splinters.

Another season fked by st Club management.

I agree with pretty much all of that - and it is certainly a funny old game. I also have a sore head this morning as I kept going back and forth to the fridge after the match laugh

I had some rum after I got back from the pub - not the best idea.

Only way Cornet's getting on the pitch is if someone lobs a programme on.

Very surprised that he's started Ant.
