We still created chances but dessers fluffed everything he was given, I wouldn’t single him out though as the whole team was pretty rotten.

What looked like a terrible weekend has turned round though, we’ve had a stumble that will hopefully refocus a few of our players and it’s not actually cost us, another round of games done so less opportunity for Celtic to claw back.

It’s really going to come down to the old firms
Apart from only the 2 head to heads wink
Good to see Rodgers namecheck the officials about time the club came out and stopped accepting wrong decisions

Liel Abada away to the MLS for £8m+ potential addons, the best move for all parties considering the situation

Hence why I said it’s coming down to the old firms. smile

Some reaction when it’s Celtics first red card and penalty against them this season hehe nice to see a 180 on your opinion, you seemed a bit miffed when rangers had a go at collum at new year redcard

Cracking strike from Barron in the 1st minute, Infantino must have been impressed.

Shame about the result, but just about to be expected.

When reality meets invention, here's what you said

"another round of games done so less opportunity for Celtic to claw back"

Re Collum, his decision was correct (even if it was in a roundabout way)
Re Beaton's his advice to the ref is wrong twice (the red is subjective but the pen award his advice flies in the face of the actual handball rules)

https://x.com/MichaelMcCahi10/status/1764284606902...

Rangers asked for Collum to be removed from any future Rangers Games
Rodgers merely pointed out Beaton's competency

However given I thought the league was done last Sunday at HT, it's still in our own hands but going to be squeeky bum time until the last kick of the season

Dermot Gallagher, the celtic fans usual hero, has just said on Sky Sports Ref Watch that all decisions in the Hearts game were correct, apart from the Celtic penalty, which they should not have had.

In the Motherwell game he says definitely a penalty for Rangers, and Motherwell player should have been a red against McCausland for the guy who then scored the winner.

Good girl, Dermot.

What was said immediately afterwards rofl trying to pick and choose a quote there strocky.

Fan media said that, rangers never came out and said it and it wasn’t long till he was refereeing us again.
After the old firm game a few in here were saying rangers were endangering collum by calling him out so the hypocrisy is funny to read.
Last time Rodgers name checked Beaton he received death threats and 3 people were arrested.

P.s here’s Rodgers comments from the st mirren game, 61 days ago smile

What was the justification for the Motherwell red? It was a 50/50 challenge that only caused an injury due to mccausland pulling out. It's the sort of thing you see several times in every game but only seems to have any focus because a Rangers player was injured.

It shouldn't even be a talking point but is fulfilling it's purpose of deflection and stopping the media conversation being about how poor rangers were.

Hearts thoroughly deserved the win yesterday anyway, other than a couple of decent saves from Clark they were comfortable and created the better chances.

Shankland has to start at the Euros.

It "could" be deemed serious foul play and therefore a red, just because it was a 50/50 and the Motherwell player won the ball doesn't make it a legal challenge nor if he caught or didn't catch the opposing player. I can see both sides, I do however wonder why it wasn't VAR checked (if it was they didn't announce it).

Also the topic isn't to deflect from the rangers being "poor" because they actually weren't that poor with the exception of the two goals they conceded. 70% possession 31 shots and 11 on target tells you that along with 15 corners. They done a lot of things right but they fundamentally couldn't score and made two mistakes which resulted in goals. A poor result.

Our referees are not bias or corrupt they simply aren't good enough at the level we expect for this league. VAR is magnifying this as we all believed the on field refs would be able to fix all incidents they previously would have missed. However it's still the same on field officials making the decisions or providing the VAR advice for the on field officials to review.

You do realise Beaton did not make the decisions on Sunday. The on field official Don Robertson did. It's the responsibility of VAR to highlight the issues only. Don Robertson had the opportunity to hold his original decisions.

Good performance from rangers tonight.

1rst half they were excellent, outfought benfica for everything.

2nd half they tired badly. Don’t know what goldson was thinking for his own goal.

I think if we had the likes of sima and Cantwell we would have beat benfica, desser just didn’t contribute as an out all tonight that we needed

A fantastic result from Rangers last night. I was worried about where the goals would come from considering the injuries we have at the moment but absolutely delighted to keep the tie alive for the game at Ibrox. Hopefully some players are on the way back to give others a rest.

Well he’s not currently in a job…
Maybe return for MacInnes, realising he didn’t do that bad a job after all… I’m joking of course, who knows what Cormack will do now…
