Leah Williamson out of the world cup with ACL.
I feel her pain as I'm seeing the surgeon next week about mine, which has most likely ended my field hockey career frown

Wouldn’t it be fantastic if the Lionesses has 3 Lionesses on their shirts instead of 3 lions. The Dutch women have a lioness on their shirt and the guys have a lion, why doesn’t the England team do something similar? Would be such an amazing statement.

It won't happen, because 3 lions is the badge of English football and they are an England team. I think it's good that they have the same kit and badge as the men, as it shows the importance of the women's team. The lionesses proudly wear the badge of English football, 3 lions. It's fine. The sex of the animal on the badge isn't important. We are ENGLAND!

The Welsh have a dragon, which isn't male or female, because it doesn't even exist!

Nice. I'm at work but will watch the game later on catch up. Quite enjoy the women's footy and ruggers.

Actress and waitress are still in everyday use. The problem with batsman and chairman is that batswoman and chairwoman never really caught on, so people were referring to females in those roles by the male term....."she's a great batsman" or "they have a female chairman".

Lioness is very much like actress, a word in everyday usage that doesn't sound odd.
