Bit of deflection. Bit of something in it

The players aren’t good enough but he can’t say that, their confidence is already shot to pieces.

Go look for clattenbergs comments regarding Mcburnie recently. He ought to stick to gladiators

Luton fan in peace again. What do you guys make of this?

He's an absolute tit for saying it, and an even bigger one for whining about a ref eating a sandwich when he no doubt was giving him an earful (and thinking being a Premier League manager conveys some sort of god-like status).

Anyone who might have even remotely though Wilder was an answer to anything other than draining more money away from where it needs to be should now know they were incorrect.

Loved Wilder at first. Boyhood supporter, player etc etc. And our first season back was great....at least up until his one tactic was found out. But the way he left our last stint up was incredibly poor, and he brought precisely nothing to the table that we needed. This is just him not being honest, likely so he has a bigger chance of staying to the end of the season.

Today's performance was piss poor. I have no issue with losing. I have no issue losing every game. But you want to see some direction and fight. That's what Edwards has instilled in your boys, and what I'd give for even 10% of that right now.

We could still very much beat Derby's record.

McBurnie's 2 divisions beyond his competence level.

The only real thing Clattenburg was naive about was bring the team into it. All teams do that.

It wasn't a penalty to me...or if it was, Bowen probably was at the other end. But that's how the game goes sometimes. We can moan about plenty of stuff, like the amount of games we've lost points in the new version of Fergie time. But introspection is needed into why that stuff happens anyway - lack of concentration, lack of skill, lack of desire, lack of fitness etc etc.

Had a few family problems of late and not really been keeping up with this thread.

There is nothing more to add from what has already been said. I’m just hopeful to have a fresh start in the champ.

On another note. I found the badge my uncle gave me before he passed away. He was only 48 and every time I dig it out it brings back so many memories of the crazy stories he told me.

It’s hard being a BLADE.

The BBC were one of a few reasons I rarely watched games live as a kid. That side of football wasn't really English football's finest hour.

(48s no age though).

Hope the family issues are sorted. Infinitely more important than a game smile

I've been a long suffering Blade since my mate's dad (who was head gatekeeper on the South stand) used to let us in for free in the 80's.

I expected pretty much nothing this season when we, as per normal, sold Ndiaye and Berge before the season even started. Had a bit of hope when we signed the likes of Archer and Hamer but the way the season has gone hasn't surprised me very sadly.

We will struggle in the Championship with this team. Archer will be back at Villa, and others will go too. We're heading down with a pathetic whimper and that does not bode well for next season.

Apart from the first Premier League season with Wilder and the Bassett years (when I was off footie for a few years) it has been pretty much continual hoofs in the testicles. I'm struggling to think of the worst, perhaps selling Deane and Fjortoft when we were pushing for promotion.

But this season is right up there. It's embarrassing and just not enjoyable.

I do genuinely feel for Blades fans - I did fear we’d (Luton) take numerous pastings in the Premier League when we got promoted, and even said to my Dad I’d accept it for a “Take the money and run” exercise to build for the future. So there’s definite empathy from me, even though I’m obviously pleased it’s not us at the bottom!

You’re also sods, as a month later, I still can’t escape ‘Greasy Chip Butty’ randomly floating into my head.

Yeah, didn't see that coming.

At least we're not going to have the lowest points record. Probably would have under Hecky.

Bad day at the office for us (Luton). We struggled to break down the well organised lines of five and four - didn’t move the ball quickly enough and we lacked movement to deal with the resolute defending. Both penalties weren’t penalties.

Sheffield Utd’s constant time wasting and going down “injured” from about the 50th minute was embarrassing, but part of the “game management” referees seem unable to do anything about.

Phew.

Next step - can we not finish bottom?

GD of -38 will make that a little tough (over and above being ste this season). But let's see...Burnley have Arsenal, we have Brighton. Stranger things have happened smile

Every team buggers about these days.

Blue cards not needed. The FA just need to tell refs to get tough. Yellow for first offence. Quick yellow and a red if they keep buggering about.

Will never happen. Too much "we want to keep 11 on the pitch and the game flowing. The downside of that being buggering about.

Agreed. The mechanism for dealing with dissent etc is there already. It just needs to be used.

Opportunity squandered.

I should probably reset my sights on us not having a worse goals conceded and goal difference than Derby come the inevitable end.

Another terrible weekend (on the football front).

A friend of mine just a couple of weeks ago was doing the maths to see if we could stay up. Absolute mad man, deluded, I'm sure there are plenty of Blades who think/thought the same as him.

We were dismantled by a Brighton side in the cup a month ago, when the game didn't matter and they more or less fielded a B-team. In the league it was always going to go one way.

McAtee standout performer and some great saves by Wes again. Roll on May I say. Easier to get parked up, easier to get tickets, quieter in the pubs before and after, shorter queues getting in, will be able to move season ticket also (the moron behind us is really grating), so not all bad!

biggrin

We'll have to have a PH "hello" over a Hendos sausage roll next season (I'll have the young uns in tow).

Anyway, there's still 39pts to play for and we're only 8pts from safety biggrin
