See it's comments like this that make me feel better about the weekend; they're actually gonna keep him now and pretend he's a decent manager.

I'm still pissed off about the manner of defeat at the weekend
These are my feelings about it as well. If we played well and were defeated by a much better team then OK, I'll still be disappointed but we were complacent and slapdash.
My exact feelings too. Still feel very disappointed. However I don't blame the team - it was Klopp who decided to play a full strength first XI for largely a dead rubber against Sparta knowing that in a little over 2.5 days, he'd play the exact same team in a game could potentially stretch across 120mins+. Is it any wonder why it was a complacent and a lethargic looking performance? It was completely avoidable. That's what pisses me off the most.

Much as I'd love to think my opinion is valued I don't think Big Jim and the board trawl the forums looking at comments before making decisions on the manager.

You guys are likely to be in a very similar pickle once Herr Klopp departs for pastures new.

We are steering into unknown and possibly choppy waters, that's for sure.

I really won't miss JK losing his temper with people (like that journo on Sunday). Dear God, he turns into a monster.

I'm hope he's at least apologised to him privately. The journalist seemed to take it quite well and was understanding in the quotes I read afterwards.

One would hope so. That journo's response was a breath of fresh air. Imagine the hoo-ha with one of ours...

Possible certainly, but likely? Wishful thinking on behalf of opposition fans I'd suggest.

We've gone early to sort out the more senior positions and have a squad full of leaders with some great young talent coming though behind them. I'm convinced we'll be fine, but also won't expect too much too soon.

Adam.

Makes me laugh - "officially takes charge on 1 June". As if nothing will be going on until then in our Klopp-replacement search... laugh

Hopefully he proves a good appointment anyway. Edwards has done the job and (I imagine) trusts this fella to do it at least as well...

Yeah I'm realistic enough to know its going to be tough, we've had a good few years so am thankful for that, we knew the day would come.
I feel the squads ok with some great youngsters coming through, similar to you guys.

I presume you don’t rate Garnacho or Mainoo? Or do you mean they are much better youngsters than Liverpool have? biggrin

If Pep or Klopp were managing them they would be top 4, some good players, and they have the funds to add a couple more if they sell the bad apples (eg Rashford), they are not miles off as the table shows

It was more the comment that our squad is "OK" that I was taking issue with.

As a United fan I would also take issue with it as well. We have some dross in our squad

Harvey Elliott was on the scoresheet twice for England U21's today meaning he's got 7 goals from 6 games. Decent return for a midfielder (albeit the standard of opposition has been a few levels below what he's used to).

Really nice to see the smile on Eriksson's face in the dugout.
