Congratulations to Luton going to Wembley
Discussion
It sounds like a proper mess, people in the first 100 in the queue not able to buy tickets, loads have missed out. I know it would have been a big job but I would have had more confidence in our ticket office getting it done properly.
I've not given up hope but it will be difficult, I refuse to pay reseller costs for tickets though.

I am pleased for them. There is a reasonable chance that the dream of new stadium can be built now, 9 years after Luton being in the conference, just by winning games. If they do manage to build it, I hope it could be called the Twig stadium.
My father in law was a lifelong Luton supporter and in the 80's had his company advertising on the hordings there. He died in March, I am an atheist but right now I hope he is looking down at this, it is amazing.
Looking forward to the Luton - Chelsea fixture next season.

Great story.
Twig will be upset!
Fantastic Twig will be upset!
Some big issue with fitting electronic turnstiles in the space available for them. Having to modify them because they're too tall/wide. There are other issues as well.

Apparently there's some doubt about them meeting the standards that have been laid down, in time. May have to open with several away games, or agree a ground share after all. There was a report on London local news on Friday, discussing issues if they went up (although why Luton is on London news I don't know)

Yet you missed the news where the chairman said they would build a new stand in 12 weeks to comply with the regulations Some big issue with fitting electronic turnstiles in the space available for them. Having to modify them because they're too tall/wide. There are other issues as well.
Indeed, games will only be played if the ground meets the requirements. One of two things will happen, the ground won't have it's certification and Twig will be cock a hoop with I told you so or the games will be played safely according to regulations and Twig will find some nuance to prattle on about to give him an Internet win.
In the mean time what a phoenix from the flames story. From top flight football to non league and then back to top flight. Congratulations LTFC

We were there today (daughter and I). Not vintage football and I feel for Coventry but they're a good team with a great manager and they'll get another chance. The money is a genuine game changer for us, a chance to guarantee a sustainable community football club for the foreseeable future. We've done it without a sugar daddy and without risking the club financially. Gary Sweet and the 2020 team deserve all the plaudits.
Kenilworth Road is what it is, we may have start the season with away games but the board have made it clear we will not be ground sharing. There will have been discussions with the EPL and so they would have made those comments with all the facts. The Kenny will be a superb addition to the Prem, embrace it.
Sorry for the monologue, still absolutely buzzing.

Another hugely proud Hatter here. Means so much more when it’s a club you have a personal and local connection with, rather than one you picked because they were generic and successful.
Conference to Premier League in nine years. Wow.
I feel for Coventry and the lad who missed their penalty. Horrible way to lose!

I don’t feel too bad as a Coventry fan. Luton deserved it anyway especially finishing third and they played so well first half.
Coventry had a crap start to the season with all the issues with the ground etc. I think without that next year we could well be automatic promotion place.
I really hope Luton manage to hold on in the premiership next year

One thing, why are you building a ground with only 20,000 capacity?
Apparently you took 42,000 to Wembley so the fan base is there.
Variety of reasons, but mainly due to financial sustainability. Wembley will always be a big draw for day-trippers. Cov bought a similar number and at times the CBS arena has had 10k or 12k empty seats. Tuesday nights in January don't hold the same allure as a Wembley final. The stadium plans do include scope to increase capacity in the future, but the board are naturally prudent and will only do so if the demand is proven.

Nick Owen was on tv this morning saying Luton have a waiting list for season tickets. The stadium plans do include scope to increase capacity in the future, but the board are naturally prudent and will only do so if the demand is proven.
Add in the new fans teams get by being in the Prem + bigger away fan followings I can see you selling out every week.....but that's assuming you last more than a season or 2 and that's the dilemma isn't it.
