Hopefully see us move up to 8th today, provided Newcastle don't cause an upset. Should able to deal with Stoke at home imo.
Stoke always seem to score freak or great goals against us. Lets hope today we are motivated and get 3 points.

They're a bogey team for lots of other teams really, but I reckon stay confident and play with as much confidence as we have been and we'll be ok today. We're off to a good start thanks to SRL.

A very ordinary game in difficult conditions.
Did not feel at any point during the game that we would get beat.
Stoke came to do a job and played very well stopping us from playing.
A difficult trip to Hull on Tuesday then the big one next Saturday.
Lets take the cup seriously. We have a great opportunity to go all the way.

Good win tonight. I don't think at the start of the season anyone would have believed we would only be 2 points behind Man U in the middle of February.

Looked pretty good from what I saw on the telly. Rodriguez looked pretty frustrated that he didn't score but he was always trying.

Excellent 3 points away to make up for the draw just gone.

Cracking win and 2 on the bounce away from home. Just need to sort out the odd game like vs Stoke to be really dangerous this season

Delighted with the win and, whilst I couldn't make this one, it was thoroughly deserved by all accounts - first back to back away wins for 13 years !

Nice words from Steve Bruce in his post match interview and also from many of Hull fans on their Not606 forum - worth a read to see how highly some regard our current team.

Big cup game this Saturday to look forward to now - and yesterday's result should stand us in very good stead..

An excellent performance against a poor Hull side.
Should have been out of sight before our only goal went in.
Our away support was superb last night. Over a 1000 of us making the long trip north. The win made for a very enjoyable evening.

If we perform like that on Saturday we should be in the quarter finals.

On Radio Solent it sounded like a home game.

Useless info I have learned today whilst looking at Italian musical terms: pochettino means 'rather little'

I hope his Mrs has no complaints.

Going to be tough in the cup at Sunderland and the 3rd time we'll have played them at their place this season. They seem to have turned the corner a little, so hope that they need to focus on the league and that we can get a victory given the lack of things to play for in the league.

This is the time of the season where anyone wanting to go to the world cup should be playing well, so lets hope that all of our prospects do themselves proud.

Key question for tomorrow is Victor or Jack??????

I still can't get over all this "nothing to play for in the league" and "all we've got to go for is a cup" stuff.

We're currently 8th in the Barclays Premier League. 8TH!! In relation to the PL, I don't give a fk about the FA Cup, if we finish 8th this season that's as good as a cup win IMO. Where were we three years ago?! Pompey fans would happily switch the FA Cup win to be back in the PL (or even League One hehe) so though the cup is a nice thing to win, it only goes down in history. And history is only something fans of teams who don't do well in the league bleat on about (see Liverpool for details). It's because the league is the biggest deal.

I'd love an FA Cup win, don't get me wrong. Like I've said before (and got flamed for it) I wouldn't want a good cup run in place of a good league finish. That said, I think we're possibly in a better place squad-wise to go for it, so I'll be watching tomorrow (on a channel I actually fking have - hurrah!) and hoping we go for the jugular. A top half finish AND a cup final? I'll drink a bottle of Coke and eat the bottle if we did it, but I'd be happy to do it!

I think the FA Cup is worth having a decent go at, though I admit I might not be quite so sure if there wasn't a gobby Sunderland fan who drinks in my local.

Didn't hear the last of it when they knocked them out of the League Cup and I won't hear the last of it for ages if they win tomorrow.

Having said that, if Saints play as well as we know they can, then they are in with a decent shout

Good argument, but I'm on the other side of the fence. It's the FA cup and if we win it, it's a major honour to add to the 1976 triumph and a 1st Division runners up medal. It's bragging rights and whilst the PL may generate cash, I want trophies.

Has to be Jack - IMO, he's been superb during his recent run of games and doesn't deserve to be dropped.

We are having a great season in the Premier league but this Saturday it is THE FA CUP.
We have a chance against one of the poor teams in this league to progress to the quarter finals of this countries major cup competition.
We are a much better side than Sunderland and should progress but need to really perform like we did on Tuesday night.
I think Sunderland will have their minds on survival and the league cup final. Also if this ends as a draw the replay will be in the week before their league cup final appearance. A date they will not need.
So lets get behind the boys and hopefully be just one more game from a trip to Wembley.
