The timing of the transfer (before the World Cup and before a new Saints manager is appointed) makes me wonder if Rickie had a clause in his contract saying he could leave at the end of the season if either (or both of) Cortese or MoPo left the club.

It's not just that, but the figures quoted are nonsense. In the example I quoted you're telling me that Liverpool are going to get Lallana and Lambert for £24 mil...why would they do that when Lallana is worth more than that on his own?

Bournemouth have a sell on clause which I believe is around 25% for the Lallana Fee. so The higher the fee the more they get and the saints lose in profit.

lambert has no clause so its all profit. So if they sell Lallana for a lower price and lambert for a higher price they done have to pay Bournemouth. but they still get what they value them at just working around maxing there profit on both players.

but checking the latest news it looks like there selling him for 4mill not the fee stated last night what was 10-12mill

This is how stories hit the press. completely unfounded, but "oohhh lets make something up as it suits a nice story". Agree the figures are nonsense

If Lallana wants to leave then he will have to put in a transfer request which will hit him in his pocket.
If he does then sell him. No player is bigger than the club. It was only 2 seasons ago when he was at best average and a million miles from getting into the England squad.
He has had a great season but needs to do that for every season.
The money being touted for Luke is huge so I expect him to go. The new manager will have plenty of funds to find a replacement for him. Although we have another England left back in Matt Targett so things not looking too bad.

I hope that the new manager will calm the storm and that we can supplement the squad with others. If you look on the liverpool thread, some are not convinced that Adam will help them and I hope he stays

The media can tweak facts and paint any picture they want, but the overwhelming apparentness here is that he's doing everything he can to leave our club. From everything I've seen/read (some more credible sources than papers) it seems he'll be off, and when he is there won't be much of a party. Hope I've got it all wrong of course.

Luke has to go, too. £30M for a player that's started what, 60 times? You can't say no to that.

Let's see what happens. Right now LR and wreck-it-Ralph look massively out of their depth, and if that's not correct, they haven't helped themselves by keeping so many fans in the dark for so long. This Liverpool/Lambert affair isn't recent, it's been going on since December, and they weren't the only club who've come in for him it seems. They are, however, the only club he stated he'd leave for.
