Hopefully his standing will help attract quality players to St Marys...
Not to mention hanging onto some of those who [allegedly] want out..

Great news, although his track record is a little up and down.

Paul Scholes can suck my balls (if the following is accurate):

http://www.offthepost.info/blog/2014/06/man-utd-le...

It's very simple if you think £34m is too much Paul.....don't fking buy him! Find another LB and leave ours alone. Simple really.

Moans about English talent being ignored for cheaper foreign imports! I've got a new one for him; how about English teams outside the top 4 struggling to improve because the top 4 (or 7, in Utd's case) keep trying to prize their best players away from them.

Straightforward really - to LS we say "you're an awesome player, you've done us proud and you have an exciting future. We'd love you to stay, but if you want to go, we'll inform them what we want for you and wish you the best."
To Utd we say "If you want Luke Shaw, you're going to have to pay for him. He's one of our best players, and we feel we should be compensated accordingly if a team tries to lure one of our best assets away. Therefore, £34m please!"

Sorry, it's been brewing for a while!

Well said that man.
Are we a feeder club ? Possibly but any player will really cost you. We don't need the money so you want you pay. Take it or leave it.
I think £30m is good business. We can buy an International full back for £10m and still have a nice wedge to strengthen elsewhere.
In Ronald we trust smile

£30m? If they want to pay it, we can't say no to that!

Sad to see Luke leave, but it's felt inevitable for a while and we can use the money productively. Bridge, Bale, Shaw...... now then Matt.... are you going to be next good left back out of the academy?

Not seen much news on Saints signings, but it's the world cup and I guess that it takes time for the new manager to get his thoughts together.

Really hope that Adam chooses to stay

This Pelle chap seems to be a strong contender for around £8m.

The only worry I have at the moment is all the name faces we're potentially looking at are abroad, and I was really proud of the largely home-grown team we ran with last year.

I just wish the Danny Ings rumours were true. Potential next no.7 there as far as I'm concerned.

I go with Ings as well. We are light up front without J-Rod and Rickie

As much as I'm sad to see Shaw move on, we would be mad to turn down that sort of money. The flip side of young and years ahead of him is unproven at the top level over a sustained period.

Yep, £30m is a tidy sum to have and hopefully Koeman can spend it wisely or it's invested elsewhere.

Sad to see Shaw go but fully understand why.
Not too bothered about Adz as I think there are better left sided players out there.
If the rumours coming out of the club are true then plenty of quality new faces are coming in.
The downside to this is it may take a while for the new team to gel.
Onward and upward biggrin

Lallana's had/having his medical in scouseland at the mo. There's a chance he might fail though, as I believe there is a maximum head-size requirement.

Lovren's handed in a request, so that's only a matter of time. The rest we might get lucky with.

We could be sat on £100,000,000 to spend though?

Exactly. There could be substantial funds available. I think it's looking rather good although I admit I wouldn't be saying that if the new manager was dubious/unproven.

Saints go marching in! COYR

Spend it better than Spurs did
