Lallana , Shaw , Lovren , Lambert , Chambers & probably Schneiderlin ,
How much do you think these players would have been worth if they were for sale this time last year ?
Do you think the ex manager is mainly responsible for the crazy monies being paid for these players ? i would probably say it is, is he that good ?
Lovren 8.5m - I think thats what we paid for him How much do you think these players would have been worth if they were for sale this time last year ?

Good news - Jose signs a new 3 year deal and is handed the skipper's armband.
Bad news - Schneiderlin has spat his dummy, gone on strike and hasn't trained since Sunday (or so I hear).
What a silly boy..... Going on strike is not a good sign to send to another clubBad news - Schneiderlin has spat his dummy, gone on strike and hasn't trained since Sunday (or so I hear).
What is it with these overpaid prima donna players
I think it is time for teams to get tough even if it works financially against them .
Football is becoming a joke. The big clubs think they can hoover up all the talent and the players think they can move when it suits them. They sign the contracts. No one holds a gun to their heads. Grow a pair and see your contract out.
And Morgan you are good but Champions league good ? not so sure.

Done deal - welcome to St Marys, Fraser.
Anyone else go to the BL game yesterday ?
A lot of positive signs - Bertrand, Fonte, Tadic (1st half) and expecially Taider who I thought was excellent when he came on.
Negatives - Yoshida and Mayuka were pants, Clyne needs to improve his crossing and Pelle needs to have someone alongside him, not to mention working on his first touch.
Conclusions ? We need a centre back, another striker and possibly a wide man - and fairly quickly, I'd say.
Oh, and the new LED lighting is bright beyond bright..

We were not embarrassed by a team in the Champ league qualifier.
We do seem to lack a real playmaker in midfield, someone to open up teams.
We are a solid side so I do not think we will struggle this season but it a work in progress team.
COYR
£16m for a nipper with just a handful of PL games under his belt is an insane amount of money.
That said, of all the exits, Chambers was the most perplexing and the most disappointing.
He didn't seem to be our first choice RB, but plenty of us wanted to see him get a few starts in a more central position. Seems those thoughts were justified.

It was by no mean a small fee. Another year of regular football and with the inflation English players seem to command I think he'd of gone for a lot more in a years time. Good for us, not so much for you.
Hopefully your Academy will continue to produce top class talent and show a bit more loyalty then the previous crop did.

Yeah I went down. Bertrand did look alright I thought, and good performance from Fonte. Davis was solid as ever, even though he probably contributed to the OG. I also wondered if Pelle needs a wing man as the target man thing just wasn't coming off. He's not afraid to get stuck in, either, but I'm worried he'll pick up quite a few yellows in the PL.Anyone else go to the BL game yesterday ?

Tadic I couldn't work out! At the time I thought he wasn't too effective, but the more I look back the more I struggle to remember any pressing moves that didn't involve him. Tadier looked lively when he came on, and looked like he and Tadic had been playing together for years, which is promising.
Deffo need another striker though, and another CB in my opinion. Yoshida will do as a back up, but he gives the ball away too much. Thought Ramirez looked good, though he still seems to do the hard stuff fine, but cocks the easy stuff up!
Fairly promising, bit of a drab game but I'm happy enough. I saw us play worse last season, that's for sure.

I was hoping this was not true. Shane is a good player, but is he going to get 15-20 goals a season for us? I'm disappointed if he comes to us, but sometimes there is not a lot out there.
The money is stupid (if that really is the amount) but I think he would be a decent signing. He isn't going to score that many but he might help setup a few goals. We badly need to sort the defence out though. The thought of Yoshida and Jos starting if Fonte gets injured ..
