Pelle needs a wingman, as far as I can see. JRod could fit that bill, but equally so could Long. £12m though?! We're basically buying him out of his contract, it's not a true reflection of his value (which is more £6-7m IMO). Works hard though, same as JRod.

His last 2 seasons have yielded 6 assists and 15 goals in 51 appearances. Compare and contrast to J-Rods 8/21 in a similar amount of games.

Seems an odd price/choice for a 27 year old but then I'm not a scout so sure he has his attributes even if knowing where the goal is isn't one of them.

Fancied it on Sunday but can't justify the expense to the missus. Going to do the home game though, probably head down with my brother as usual with a possible addition of my Evertonian F.I.L. He'll be a saints fan for the day no doubt! Shame though I'm missing it though, I reckon there will be quite the atmosphere at St Mar.....sorry, Anfield.

Way to much money for Long. Hull paid to much in January!

But you know what get with him, 100% effort every game, great work rate and probably 10 goals a season. His movement will make up for the static Pelle on the BL showing on Saturday.
Nothing gets the fans back on side more than a player who puts himself about a bit. Long and Pelle will do that. And if they can both get double figures in goals, you will be all right.

He averages 1 goal every 4 games from his domestic career.

Played 15 times for us, scored 4 goals.... Tbh, we wont miss him.

Rumours circulating that Cork will be off to Palace for around £3m. Seems daft to me, but then we don't know whether he hasn't been offered a new contract, or whether he's refusing to sign one. If it's the latter, it makes more sense to get something for him now. Otherwise, that's crazy! He's a hard working player, good attitude and a good member of the squad. He should play more than he does.
