You probably don't want to hear this, but there were tickets still being sold the day before the game - limited availability perhaps, but on sale nonetheless.

There was the odd seat here and there right up to KO I think, but I wanted two. And, in fairness there were quite a few next to the away fans, but I'm not much good at 'banter' without a keyboard in front of me and time to think of a comeback laugh I'd let the side down!

If you don't mind being on your feet, I've heard it said that you could buy 2 seats anywhere in Itchen North and you +1 could simply yomp up near the back where everyone stands, anyway.

Not that I'd ever condone such unruly behaviour, obviously. wink

If we can't start against Villa through this current run of form, we never will!

I reckon we'll slip up tonight though, and it will all fall apart just before a run of tougher games! frown

Ever the optimistic, eh? hehe

But seriously, I do think that's what will happen. Villa are a bogey team.

I tend to agree. I'd take a point now if it was offered. Any idea of the starting line-up?

Edit: I read that Davis and Schneiderlin are the injury doubts which is less than ideal

Did anyone else read the rumour of Lambert returning to SM in January on a loan?

Surely it was hugely predictable that he wouldn't get many first team appearances at Anfield and his England chances would suffer? Given the move was supposedly his swan song to fill the coffers playing for his boyhood club until retirement it all seems a bit unlikely.

Yes, I've read something along those lines but no idea how much substance there is behind it. If it's true then I'd have no issue with it

I don't think he'd get many 1st team games here at the moment!

Have faith about this evening!

Why would he want to come here and sit on the bench ?
We have had our best days out of him. Move on. He is not up to our standard now laugh

hehe

In seriousness, the xmas period and squashed in games will be a little tense to see the strength and depth of our squad.

I know we need cover for Pelle but Lambert is not it. He does not have the legs for the type of game we play now. He was struggling at the end of last season too.
He will always be a legend here but you have to move on not backwards.

Oh well. I said I'd take a point! Pretty poor though. Just one of those nights when not much goes their way. Did Pellè even have a sniff all night?

My fears were nearly reality there. I actually think the Int. breaks do us no favours at all, as once you've got momentum it's hard to get it going again once you've lost it. Still, it's a point against a very organised Villa defence. The fact we've gone to Villa Park (arguably a much bigger club than us), and come away with a point still speaks volumes about how well we're doing today. The 35/65 possession doesn't look too shabby either biggrin

Just not our night. On to the 6-pointer against Citeh.

We did not play well last night and yet we come away with a point which is good. It was the final ball which in my opinion was not there. Posession was good and to have 65% away from home is incredible but we lacked the edge that we have had in previous games.

It shows how different expectations are when we are disappointed with a point from Villa park. 26 points after 12 games is amazing by anyones standards.

Really looking forward to the next 3 games. It will show whether we are in the mix and I hope that it's a tough game for Man city tonight and that our lads are enjoying an extra days rest.

Think we missed Davis last night

It was against Leicester IMO.
